★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very rude daughter adopted kitten from petvalu but was through here returned kitten in 2 days as kitten was terrizosing cat re already had. Petvalu never said no money back if it was returned. Was told kitten was good with other cats it’s not. Do this kitten has been adopted out at least twice for almost 300.00$ each & you can’t get money returned. Think Whitby animal services is a giant scam so how many times is this poor kitten going to be adopted & returned & no one gets there money back. Will not ever go back to either place. My daughter never took any of this lightly to get or return kitten .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Animal services isn't interested in helping out the feral cats in the neighborhood but threatened to capture and fine my rescues for being outdoor. When I asked them what support they could provide i was given no advice and just threatened.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have several feral cats very injured and I trapped them called animal services and the resceptionist was quite rude. Felt like an intergation. He gave many excuses why they couldn't pick up this cat. When the picked up one at my house a week or two ago. Poor Cat has got an infection in the eyes, freezing, hurt badly on face. I can't believe people just don't care. I think you should assure the caller they are doing the right thing buy calling animal services.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Save yourself the heartache of adopting an animal through Whitby Animal Services!!! Animals are NOT seen by a vet prior to adoption and staff is not trained to diagnose animals.
Adopted a kitten who was diagnosed with chlamydial conjunctivitis, then giardia and finally FIP by our local vet. After caring for the sweet kitten for 2.5 months we had no choice but to have him put down!!!! The money that was spent on tests and medication is nothing compared to the heartache it has caused our family!
If Whitby Animal Services can’t care for these animals (segregating animals, vet check, etc) why are they open? Let another shelter that cares about animals take them in!!
Did you know they don’t even support their own local community with the vet they use for neutering/spaying? Adoption fees for kittens are $100.00 more than their neighbouring city!
Do your homework before adopting - that is my advise!!! Once you do, I’m sure you’ll agree that Whitby Animal Services is not the place to adopt from!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I adopted a cat from Whitby Animal Services just over 2 months ago. I did get a bit of run around during the adoption process, but overall I am very pleased. They were extremely accurate about the personality of the cat, and I brought home a cat that check outs health wise! I would not hesitate to adopt from this facility again!
