★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I recently ordered a yard of limestone screening for home delivery. There was rain in the forecast so I laid out a tarp large enough for the delivery and ensured access for the driver. Upon arrival the driver informed my wife that the tarp wasn't necessary. She expressed that we wanted to use it and he proceeded to move it and dump the load on the driveway. I am now left with a big mess on my driveway that I'll need to pressure wash to clean up. The driver also told her we should order more next time to make the delivery worth his time. Given all of the positive reviews on here I am very disappointed in the service we received and will not be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I stopped by, a few minutes before close (5pm), for a couple quick questions. I was certainly mindful about the time and just wanted to know if they had granite steps in stock and see which ones.
The woman at the counter, took me out to the display, beside the entrance and pointed out the display steps. I noted that there was the light pink granite that I was looking for and asked if there were any available. Her response : "Oh... You want that? They're really expensive you know..." awkward silence and then goes inside to check for stock.
What does that even mean?
The best part is when she comes back out and tells the other random person getting in their car, that they have no granite steps in stock. She had a 50% chance to pick the right person, but amazingly forgot my face in the preceding 30 seconds.
I asked her about the other stone step options and she told me that they were all limestone, which didn't seem correct, as I would expect there to be some sandstone options. After consulting the supplier website, I saw that she was wrong about that as well.
A bit irritated at this point, I went to leave (it's a few minutes after 5) and the gate was closed. I turn to the front door, but they've flipped the sign to closed, turned off the lights and locked me in the parking lot.
This is just one person, so it's not as if all of Hard Co. is horrible, but in this case, I guess the TL;DR version is, don't go to Hard Co. close to closing, don't ask for expensive products, unless you fit their idea of what a customer should look like and don't expect knowledgeable answers to basic questions.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had to install a patio stone walkway for a basement apartment at my place and I have no idea what I'm doing. Katie and Hannah at reception were very helpful and I came knowing nothing and the girls guided me in the right direction. They even helped me to calculate how many slabs I needed and everything. I got everything I needed from one place. Walkway is done now and I'm a happy guy. Thank you hard co ?

Ordered some soil, mulch and limestone screening from this firm. Great over the phone, delivery came first thing in the morning has requested.
Pricing on delivery, bags and skid (refundable) are a little high, however the price of materials more than makes up for it.
Katie and Nicole you two are great, thanks for putting up with all my questions.

I attended on a handful of occasions asking the girls at the counter questions that I thought were pretty basic for a landscaping employee to know. The one girl I kept dealing with (no, I didn’t learn) seem to have absolutely no knowledge of any of their products at all. I later found out I was overcharged on a couple items and had to fight to get just a few dollars back. I later ended up buying some material from Arnt’s and realized everything I got from Hardco was less expensive by about 10 to 15% there. That would’ve saved me $1500 on my $10,000 job! Lastly, the sales staff at the front have no idea what they have in stock, and have to radio the guys in the yard every time I asked if they had a product. Come on Hardco. I really want these guys to do well as they’ve been around for many years in Whitby. Unfortunately, they fall far short of me recommending them we’re going back again.
