Our apartment is near the road, and there are many many lawns across the road, I often play soccer with my friends and have lots of fun. But I failed to find a badminton field in the neighborhood. 3 minutes to the southgate mall and 8 minutes to the LRT station, the traffic is quite convenient for me. Also, the office staff is kind-hearted and accommodating as they helped us in printing and other things. Thanks.

Southgate village is the first community I live in Edmonton. It has beautiful views, and the grass is clean, too. Some cute animals might walk around your unit. I’m satisfied with it. Hoping the pandemic past quickly, and I can spend more time to doing some workouts at the community gym.

Coming up on a year living here, it’s not too bad but there are certainly things that prospective renters may want to be aware of. Mostly having to do with the other residents/homeless in the area. My main issue is the parking lot. In the past few months our car has been broken into three times, the most recent one was last night when our drivers side window was smashed. Nothing was actually taken, we don’t keep any valuables in our vehicle, but a huge mess was left each time and it is definitely irritating and costly to repair our window. Other friends living in these apartments have experienced similar issues. With the frequency of these incidents and the amount of homeless in the area (though of course I know it was not necessarily who broke into our vehicle), I really think that security cameras in the parking lots should be added. There really isn’t much of security at all with the exception of needing to use the buzzer or key to enter the building, though I have friends who have never had to use the buzzer to come visit because they are always let in by someone else every time. If you live here, or at least in Tower 2, not sure about the others, be prepared to have the fire alarm pulled pretty much once every two weeks or so. Based on what I have heard/seen, it is usually someone pulling it during a conflict with someone, or there was one time where a homeless lady got in while my roommate went down to grab a skipthedishes order, attempted to fight and threaten him, and then pulled the fire alarm and continued to try to fight him while yelling at him and others to get out. The other issue is again, not so much a management issue, just the other residents, but there is constantly trash, dumped furniture, clothing, etc, all around the dumpster area. There are always homeless digging through the garbage, and the bins are often left propped open due to this. This means that on a windy day the entire contents of the dumpsters are blown around the area, which is super awesome. Other than that, the apartment itself and the area is nice, and most of the other residents I have seen are very nice and considerate. I have not had any pest issues at all which is very nice considering many other apartments in the University/Downtown area do. However, I don’t think this apartment is worth the price we are paying for it. I will see how move out goes with other reviews mentioning hidden fees and difficulty with that.

Extremely dissatisfied! Constant bedbug cleaning in the apartment without even restoring my room? Come on! Everyone is busy and has no time for this. Besides this, I've often heard loud music from cars passing by at night. Where is the money you used on noise prevention? I choose to live in this apartment because I think I could get high quality of living and now you provide me with something like this? I'm not gonna swear on google review but you guys really did a bad job.

I moved in about a month ago and I am glad I did. I first viewed the places 9 months before I moved in. Julie was so helpful and answered all my questions about the apartment and the building. I put my application in and Lonnie was the leasing agent that took care of me. I had wanted certain criteria for the apartment, and was willing to wait for it. Lonnie kept in touch and kept me updated. Finally, I did get exactly what I wanted. Cosam is fantastic! Every time you call the office you usually get his cheerful voice or his replies to emails, he is just wonderful. Denise and Beth are wonderful as well and very accommodating. All the staff are great, The Village at Southgate is fortunate to have such a great group of staff. I am looking forward to having this as my home, and enjoying all it has to offer.

I find it's really a right decision to choose the Village at Southgate as our home in Edmonton. The apartment has a quite large area as well as clean and complete living facilities. The surroundings are so beautiful than I enjoy taking a walk after dinner very much. The transportation is also very convenient and I can take the LRT to the university with short commuting time. It's because of the above points that I want to thank those who advice me to living here. Last but not least, I'd like to express my gratitude to the office staffs here, especially Julie. It's their kindness, patience and thoughtfulness that made me quickly adapt to the life here.
