Southgate Tower - Edmonton

This building has Poor Management!! Don't go by the flashy appearance. Only one elevator work in the building out of two. And there are occasions when both won't work. I live on 20th level and climbing stairs is tiring and overwhelming. They just recently had expensive renovations done rather than giving priority to the functional needs of the building. Unfortunately I have a few months of my lease left so have to live with this..

As a newcomer, I searched a lot to find an affordable appartment with good condition. It is about a month that I moved in. Southate tower's access is wonderful! Every thing was in good condition except the agent, Sam! He was much better than good. He is so kind, accurate and responsible. I am so happy he is here. There are two other distinguished stafs, too. I suggest this place and this company.

I requested a new toilet be installed in my apartment and was absolutely delighted with the level of service that I received from the manager that arranged the job to the two workers that came to do the job. The two workers that came completed the job in very short time. I was totally impressed..

Unfortunately, when we first moved in there was some events that made living in our suite uncomfortable which was totally out of the hands or control of the management team. It was just plain bad luck what happened. However, Sam recognized the rough start and went above and beyond to move us up floors and remedy the situation. The wife is happy and feels safe which makes me happy. I am very open and a direct individual when I hold issues towards matters and Sam was great to work with to tackle the present challenges. He cares and is actively involed with his role within the building community. I understand the challenges an older building and a building in a rough developing neighborhood can bring but he does his best and goes above his best. People with issues with security or matters about the building, those issues should be directed toward corporate broadwalk which most likely controls the funding for their own buildings. The common area on the main floor is great and clean. I love the fact there is a garbage shoot and underground parking. Does the building need some renovation? Yes. In some areas it does which is in the works suite by suite and floor by floor as tenets come and go. For myself I live in a renovated suite now and it is great. Before the move I lived in a base suite which by no means I would say was bad, just different. Personally, I miss the carpets as it's a sound barrier. The size of the apartments are amazing for the price along with the size of the balcony, length and width. Try to be neighborly, follow basic security practices while living in an apartment building, keep clean and have a open line of communication with Sam regarding ideas or issues and you'll most likely will love the stay. Unless you get a dose of bad luck like I did!

I was very happy for my six months stay. The building and my suite was perfect. Didn't have any problem with anything. The building was always quite and clean and within good distance to LRT, Mall and Safeway. I also was quite happy with the service I got from building manager (Sam). I totally recommend staying in Southgate tower.

We would like to say how amazing Sam, the On-Site Building Manager was to deal with. Everything fell into place smoothly right from the beginning to the move. The other staff, Dennis and Hayat were also extremely helpful. We would recommend Southgate Tower to everyone.

We went and saw them and were told there was 1 unit available and that we could contact them 2 days later to pay the security deposit and secure our place. When we called 2 days later there was no answer from anyone and this kept happening until we got a hold of an agent who said they’d get back to us and didn’t until 5 days after. After speaking with someone and said we wanted the place we were told that we could pay the deposit by the next day. When we called the next day to confirm whether the unit was still available, we were told that it had been rented out. I’d hoped that a company so big would have better communication with potential clients.

From my experience, Boardwalk has clear criteria in selecting rent applications because I need to meet all Boardwalk requirements. Yet, It reflects that Boardwalk already screened for building up good community. Office person is very helpful and friendly providing excellent services. Location is excellent, suit is nice and spacious. Communication with in-place management and maintenance is easy and responsive. Free of worrying living here.
