I had a very bad experience at this bank today. I lost my debit card last night and I went into Scotiabank around 3:30 PM to get a new debit card. They claimed my mothers maiden name didn't match up. The funny part is, my moms last name has never changed. So, they have the wrong information which is very unprofessional on their part. The first lady I talked to was very nice and tried to do everything she could to help me. I then talked to a second lady. An older lady with glasses, brown hair about shoulder length. She was very rude, unprofessional, and she did not seem like she wanted to help me at all. She acted like she did not want to be there and that I was an inconvenience for her. They wouldn't give me a debit card because they said none of my information matched up, when they have the wrong info which is somehow my problem. I have got three new debit cards before and never had an issue. I showed a valid passport and proof that I have access to my online banking, yet they still would not give me a card, which doesn't make any sense because I showed her I had the capability to my online banking and to e transfer all of my funds if I wanted to. They then said I have to call a number and get a debit card mailed to me which can take up to a week. So somehow they can validate my ID better over the phone rather than in person showing them a valid passport. So, I then had to e transfer money to my girlfriend and had to use her debit card to take it out which is a huge inconvenience. There is a difference between protecting somebodies bank account and using a flawed system that majorly inconveniences customers. I have been a lifelong customer of Scotiabank but, I am now changing banks due to this horrific incident at this branch. The second lady said she would give me $50 to get by for the weekend but she didn't even end up doing that.

My husband and I have a mortgage with Scotiabank and went through this branch and had a terrible experience. We had been pre-approved by Scotiabank before making an offer on our house. When we made an offer we were connected with Tarek as our mortgage advisor. We we were initially connected he told us that he would have us officially approved within the week (the typical time it would take), it ended up taking almost two. Numerous time he asked us questions we had already answered and wasted our time getting details that he did not end up adding to our final application. He also missed several things in our application that his underwriter had to fix slowing the process further. He was very unresponsive and only when our realtor called on our behalf did we get answers. It was an incredibly stressful experience for a first time home buyer. In addition it was never mentioned to us that our property taxes would be paid through our mortgage for a fee of about $20 a month. This is.a service we could do through the city for free. I am very disappointed that this was not told to us from beginning and it was our lawyer who informed us that it was impeded in the fine print. When our mortgage is up for renewal we will likely not re-new it with Scotiabank nor would I recommend anyone to go through Scotiabank for their mortgage.

While I see there have been a number of less-than-positive reviews of this location, I have to say that this has not been my experience. Our financial advisor, R.M. , has been very responsive and offers valuable feedback and suggestions going the extra mile to try to get us great rates etc. He's always responded to my email in a reasonable period of time, and his timeliness with meetings has been great. He's always friendly, jovial, and willing to explain concepts, and very professional and respectful at the same time. He also takes time to show interest and get to know us personally beyond just going through the financial numbers and policies. The manager has also chosen to meet with us a few times, just to introduce himself, offer some ideas, and be friendly too. In my experience, the staff, in general, are very friendly, willing to listen, and want to help out. I certainly have no complaints.

Awful branch and awful bank. Never keeping appointment, never answer emails, lying to the costumers about their products. Which is funny because they represent a bank...that is run like by a bully. They stole my paycheck and wont complete the transfer to my account, demanding all kinds of documents that does not concern them.. Had to send it back from it came from and transfer it again, paying all the fee's again. If you have to go Scotia bank, at the minimum stay AWAY from this branch.

I would just like to give a huge shout out to Louise for confirming what an awful branch/bank this is. She's a horrible human being and should consider getting a job that doesn't involve dealing with people. But thank you as she lead me to closing all my accounts and taking my business to RBC which have been nothing short of amazing!!! Go see Shelly at RBC crowfoot for all your banking needs!!!

They were able to solve a problem for me in 20 minutes that 2 other branches couldn’t fix over 2 hours. The staff were extremely pleasant and helpful and went an extra mile to make sure my needs were met. The best experience I’ve had at a Scotiabank by far. They are not located particularly close to me but I will most definitely make a longer trip just to come back to this branch again in the future.

Staff and location are great, but I consistently have had an unnecessarily unpleasant experience with the branch manager. As I walked in the doo todayr, while I was putting on my mask, she thought it was necessary to get out of her office solely to bark at me to put my mask on. As I was putting it on. Came across as a total power trip. In the past she has also seemed snappy with staff and very rude when dealing with people in general. 2 times is whatever, but I see this every time I visit the branch. Though i know scotiabank and the staff at this location care, this branch manager doesn't seem to at all. I am strongly considering switching branches entirely just so I don't have to see a manager either bark at her staff or at long time customers.

The most difficult bank to deal with. Had a zero balance account that I didn't use and tried to close it online. Impossible. Tried calling. Was invited to visit a branch instead as they can't do it over the phone. Spent 40 minutes in the branch to have this simple operation completed. No lines. Plenty of free agents. They just operate this way.
