Dr Millar is so kind and helpful. Always very helpful and Knowledgeable

I have been going to Dr. Millar for quite some time, and was always very happy with him. However the customer service I received when calling in to request a copy of my prescription was terrible. Candy did not listen and then was rude when I wasn’t sure what address they had on file, actually asking me “you don’t know where you live”? She then hung up in my ear after I asked why she was being so rude and not listening? It’s too bad, I will be looking for somewhere else for any future exams.

I had a pleasant first visit with Dr. Millar. He was professional and kind, explaining things clearly. I was also very pleased that he was punctual and I didn't have to wait long.

What I like about Dr. Millar is his personal touch. We were discussing progressive bifocals and he shared a story of his own about the initial transition elements. He doesn't make you feel rushed when you have questions.

Dr. Millar is the best. He listens carefully to what you need, tests your eyes thoroughly, then gives you the perfect prescription. Professional, courteous, and skilled. My whole family has been seeing him for a decade. I have only good things to say!

Firstly let me say that I have been here before and the experience was good. Recently I encountered a situation where I was discriminated against because of my age. I walked in and asked the receptionist whether I could book an appointment that day to have my eyes tested. She said yes and asked for my Health Card. After I gave it to her she said that I would have to wait for two weeks to have my eyes tested because I was a senior. I asked her what the difference was and was shocked when she told me that seniors were slow, didn't understand much and consequently their appointments take too long sometimes cutting into her lunchbreak. I asked her if she knew what "ageism" was to which she replied no. I decided to educate her and let her know that what she was doing was not right. In all my years I have never felt so useless, hurt and sad. I should say here that I am a Federal employee with a very demanding technical job. All my faculties are intact . It was one of the most painful experiences to feel discriminated against because I am a senior. I am hoping that Dr. Millar will read this and take the appropriate action in educating this receptionist or finding a receptionist who cares about people and not worrying whether it will cut into her lunchbreak. To Dr. Millar, Thank you very much for taking the time to respond in great detail to my experience. After reading your response / explanation, I can understand where your receptionist may make the decision that she did ( rather clumsily as you put it). I am hoping to make another appointment but in the same vein in the initial screening by your receptionist I am hoping that it may be a case by case basis evaluation and not just be a general rule. I feel that I should add that on the day in question I waited for the office to be reopened (after lunch break) to try to book my appointment. Again, thank you sir for your time and extreme professionalism in dealing with my situation. Best regards...
