Stonegate Medical Clinic - Airdrie

Amazing staff and Doctor.... first time going in as I just moved to Airdrie I phoned ahead because I was so sick to see if they could get me in as a walk in. I didn't even have to sit down to fill in my paper work they asked me the questions and got me in right away. Doctor Hislop came in immediately and was fabulous! He didn't rush the appointment and he even addressed some other concerns I had without making me feel like I was just the next folder. I have a hard time going to see doctors, and everyone there made my experience positive!!

Great clinic! Got an appointment within hours for my baby, avoided bringing her into the clinic, and got a simple prescription done with pictures over Medeo and a quick phone call! Great experience, and friendly receptionist!

Honestly, I don't know why Dr. Abbas is getting such negative comments. I've been to see her twice now and she was always very kind and straight to the point, she will tell you like it is. I like her, and I'm glad to have found her! I'm sorry if you had a bad experience with her, maybe just give her another chance and see how it goes. I especially like that you can get in the same day you phone! And the front staff are always so friendly ? .

Absolutely love all the girls at this clinic. Our whole family have been going there for years and always get the best care. Dr Hislop is fantastic and also our new doctor, Dr Abbas, she is absolutely wonderful. Keep up the great work

I've been to various medical offices in my life and can say hands down that this one has the BEST front end staff. They're always friendly, caring and helpful despite it being a very busy clinic. Unfortunately with Dr. Botha leaving it looks like I will end up at another clinic and I'm going to miss them all! Dr. Botha has also been a wonderful Doctor over the 15 years or so I've been going to him. He's quick (which I appreciate) but thorough and attentive.

I've been seeing Dr Abbas since 2015. She's always been a "matter of fact" kind of doctor but was honest and still kind to deal with. But since moving from Calgary to Airdrie, she has really changed. Even pre-COVID, she started talking down to me and my wife. Here bedside manner was always a little rough but it's become downright hostile over the last 2 and a half years. My wife and I have been trying to have children for the last 3 years but have been unsuccessful and my wife has had hormone issues for most of her own life so she's familiar with some of the blood work and specialists that come with her condition. Over the last year, she has been asking Dr Abbas repeatedly for a few specific blood tests and specalist referrals and each time, she refuses to give her the requisition for the blood work and dithers on a referral. The last straw happened last week when my wife was having issues with spotting at irregular times. Again my wife asked for the same blood work and specialists, because we're still trying for kids. Dr Abbas then tells her that she'll have to start taking birth control pills. We remind her that we're still trying to have kids and want to get the blood work and specalist referral. The doctor then told her that the birth control was the only way to fix her spotting and the specalist would tell her the same. We repeatly asked her if their was anything other than the birth control pills to address the spotting and Abbas told us "no, this was it". No blood work to verify anything, no review of her past medical history, just "this is the only way, ok? I'm pretty busy today so if theirs nothing else, I'll see you next time. Ok, bye." and she walked out of our meeting room and right into the next one while we just sat their, kinda dumbfounded. that's when we lost all faith in Dr Abbas. I totally get that medical professionals are at an all time level of stress and workload, and I can't even imagine the amount of pressure they receive, not just from the pandemic but from the patients as well. But her behaviour has been rather suspect for a long time and this last iteration, sealed the deal with us and will be looking elsewhere for a family doctor. The staff at the front though, are still nice to deal with though, so don't let the whole clinic jade you; I've only seen positive reviews for the other doctors and they sound worth seeing. This review is specific to Dr Abbas.

I saw Dr. Zainab Abbas 3 times, the first 2 appointments went great. When I went in for my third appointment it was to discuss a new health concern I had recently developed. When I asked if it could be something other then what the ER had "diagnosed" me with she got very defensive, belittling, and dismissive. I refuse to see a doctor that's going to make me feel terrible for trying to understand what's going on with my health. The front office staff has always been wonderful to deal with, it is just this particular doctor.

What an amazing bunch of staff. Polite, professional. Dr. Alan is kind and informative. Not your typical in and out doctor. Highly recommend
