December 23rd 2021 I was at the eaton centre today with my friends. We decided to go to roots to check out what they have. I entered the store and went to the bottom floor. I said "happy holidays" to your workers, perhaps they didnt hear me. We looked around and didnt find anything. So we left, since your workers didnt hear me the first time I said again ""happy holidays" before leaving. One of your workers said "Its giving spectrum but youre not on the spectrum" meaning i am mentally disabled. I looked back at my friend because i thought i heard wrong. We all looked very confused and shocked. I let it process and couldnt believe what i heard. I just said "oh ok" and left the store. I am not on the spectrum but i cant believe why someone would say that. Its so disgusting, inappropriate and wrong. I was trying to spread some positivity by wishing a happy holidays. Why would someone ever say that, what even provoked the worker to say that. I want to report this because in no way shape or form is this ok. I will NOT be shopping at this location again due to HORRIBLE customer service. Please take what im saying to consideration. happy holidays.

Lovely staff!!! I was admittedly a little bit difficult, and the two ladies (one with braids and one with a shaved head) who greeted me were phenomenal. Not only were they incredibly helpful, but they radiated what i can only describe as a positive energy! They were so fun and kind, they looked like they were genuinely happy to be at work. The new girl who helped me find what i needed was also great! (Also love the pants i got, but if you know Roots quality, that was a given ;) )

Loved the service, super helpful! Such a great vibe and selection of comfort wear! Decently priced for the simple fact you know your getting quality!

Terrible cashier, was asking about if roots can provide service charged with a fee fix on pants but the cashier gave an attitude when explaining it can only cover leather products. If your life is miserable don’t bring it on someone else

I've often shopped at Roots and usually found it to be a good experience. So, my husband and I were blown away by the rude treatment we recieved yesterday. 2 incidents: I was returning a sweater that my son got for Christmas. He wasn't able to go to the store because he had tested positive and was isolating. The cashier was extremely rude and said we could only do an exchange, not a gift card because we had exceeded the time limit of returns. I asked if they made expception (like most retailers) due to the fact that he couldn't go out, and she nearly shouts "well, YOU'RE here, aren't you?' I was quite taken aback by her rudeness. Then my husband walks to the back of the store and approaches a staff member to ask about a pair of pants he was holding , and she snaps at him that she's done for the day and points to another staffer stcking shelves and says "ask him' and turns her back and walks out. I won't be returning to the Eaton Centre Roots store anytime soon.

Very rude customer service! Showing horrible attitude when customers finding shirts in pile since they do not want to fold the clothes!

I went in to check out some of their hoodies and as I was checking for a medium size I couldn’t find it so I asked the only sales associate in the men’s department at that time if he could check for a size medium. He quickly replied by saying they had no sizes, so I was like fine... I got some other stuff and went to try them on in the fitting room. Another sales associate had just started her shift stationed at the fitting rooms so I figured I’ll ask her to double check if they had a size for that hoodie I initially wanted. She took the time to go and check and came back with the size I wanted. After that, I kept browsing around and found a pair of pants I liked but couldn’t find my size, so I asked the same guy if they had that size and he replied by saying they had no sizes. I had to go back to the other sales associate that again took the time to check in the back and came back with the right size. I have reported this to the manager but she took it lightly and trying to make excuses around it. I don’t get why people like that work in retail, when there’s thousands of jobs out there that don’t require facing customers... working in retail is not for everybody.
