They do amazing things here for animals in need. I would deff recommend to anyone looking to get a new animal to add to their family to visit the Orillia SPCA and check out the pets available for adoption.

Since moving to the Orillia area I think I’ve met the SPCA more than I’ve met my own neighbours. This company seems to be very biased at the complaints that have been received regarding my two puppies. Yes puppies! To complain about the behaviour of two puppies is like complaining about too many Birds singing in the morning. Not only are their bylaw tickets costing me an arm and a leg ( Single mom not working and just gave birth to a newborn ) in addition, if I don’t pay the ticket , they threaten to take away your license. I never knew barking puppies were against the law, But I’d imagine that animal cruelty across Ontario should be more of an importance to them then puppies barking and wasting their time trying to bleed me dry of my finances. What a waste of time and taxpayers money. The two employees from the Spca Mark and Erica have been to my house more than my own relatives. Not only do they never listen to my side of the story, But I’ve also been stalked by Erica while leaving my property with the ticket in hand to just ruined my day once again. They must be taught in their handbook to smile while giving an over $400 ticket to civilians. If I was any other person Id have most likely given both of them a black eye by now. They are to ignorant realize that the neighbour complaining is a malicious menopausal woman who is an alcoholic and owns more medication then the local Bens Pharmacy. The Spca should be focussing on animal cruelty and not my beautiful award winning purebred puppies straight from Italy. Sometimes I think Mark and Erica want to look at them and play with them because they are such lovely animals and probably a breath of fresh air coming to my property and having my puppies meet and greet them since are little angels. They fail to realize I’ve done everything in my power to try and control these puppies by building a fence have an electric fence barking collars training school etc. I think I’ve done my part and they feel to realize the bunny I’ve worked out well having these German Shepherd puppies. And seem to be very one sided and greedy. If I knew any lawyer that would deal with animal by law issues I’d hire them in a heartbeat but I have no clue what kind of legal representative to hire to start a motion agaisnt the unfair, racist and biased treatment of the Orillia SPCA. They should be on broomsticks instead of in vans! Lost almost all respect for a company I once held in high regards since my good freind Tre Smith represents the Toronto SPCA, and deals with much more serious issues then barking pups!

If i could give a 0 I would. I came here in tears on March 30th because I had no choice but to give up the abandoned kitten I found a few months prior in a dumpster at Blue Mountain which is why I named her BLUE. I feel that a $50 "abandonment fee" is steep and taking advantage of people who clearly are unable to care for an animal. I am schizoaffective and am unable to care for myself let alone a kitten that was being locked in a room due to dogs. She hates ALL DOGS and other animals and is a ONE PERSON cat due to how she was found. But you wouldnt know that since you never asked any questions. You just take take take. I could have just let her get outside and your organization would have found her for no fee. A little compassion would go a long way. Not everyone who "abandons" an animal is a horrible person.

The animals are nice at this venue and seem to be treated well, but last time I was there, the staff were complaining about other customers. Also, in the past m'lady and I have been referred to their site or Facebook page for the latest on the animals they have for adoption, yet when following those two sources, found no results.

DO NOT support the SPCA. they will euthanize your animal if it: costs them money, "unappealing", or is full.

We adopted a beautiful 5 year old cat there on december 23. Not only was the staff incredible, but they went above and beyond helping us get him a haircut. The place is super clean and the animals are well loved. Skipper (now known as James/Baby Boy) has made himself right at home.

Picked up our little guy Gordie last week. They did a zoom call with us due to COVID and we got to see him interacting with the staff and when it was time to pick him up they gave us a great info pack and he was well cared for according to our vet who checked him over. Would recommend checking them out!
