The apartment is clean and quite even its right in front of the street. The manager of the apartment is very gentle and handles things rapidly. It's my first time getting rent, and this place is perfect for me :D

(continued) I received a call from Christine on January 13th letting me know that my storage locker (that I had just started renting during this new lease agreement) had been broken into and that I should check if anything was stolen and report it to the police. I wasn’t worried because I didn’t have anything of value in the storage locker, but I felt uncomfortable knowing that people I didn’t know had gone through my things. They had a party with everything in my locker. I’m not sure if they took anything, but everything (MY things) were scattered all around the storage room. I patiently grabbed my belongings and put them back in my locker. That’s when I noticed that whoever did this didn’t wreck my lock, they wrecked the storage locker door itself. I emailed Christine about this (asking her to let me know which locker I should move into since the door on mine was wrecked), and pointed out other security issues I’d been noticing (some which I had already reported before), such as: Someone broke the lock on the door that leads from the underground parkade to the elevator allowing anybody that gains access to the parkade to gain access to everyone’s units (it had been like that for months and to this day still hasn’t been fixed), and the door that leads from the outdoor back parkade into the main lobby is never properly locked and anybody that pushes it hard enough can gain easy entry into the building. I never received a response to my email. For the time being, my storage locker was being held by zip ties that I purchased. Due to unresponsiveness regarding this extremely important matter, I thought about everything over the weekend and decided to find someone to take over my lease since contracts with One6 don’t allow you to just pay a fee if you’d like to leave; You’re responsible for rent for the entire lease term unless you find someone to take over your lease. This was decided on a Sunday. The next week and a half was hell. Between Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday; 1) I went to take out the garbage only to find homeless people living in the garbage room (which I was later told occurs often and I just hadn’t noticed) and then noticed a woman trying to gain access to the building, 2) Someone broke into and completely opened an area of the mailboxes which obviously contains people’s personal and very private information (this has not been fixed to this day), and last but definitely not least, 3) Another domestic dispute occurred in the unit beside mine from 1 am to 6 am on Thursday night, for which I had to call the police twice and go downstairs THREE times (risking the people fighting to notice it was me letting the police in each time), as requested by Alexandria (Resident Services Manager) since apparently she couldn’t go into the building herself and I was the only one who could open for them. It is important to note that I should’ve been able to open the doors for them through the intercom but the incompetency runs far and wide in this building and my intercom wasn’t working. Hence why I had to physically go downstairs each time. The ordeal was a nightmare, but through this, I found out that the unit beside mine is actually an AirBnb. I was not told this before I moved to the unit and can only assume that management has been aware of incidents occurring there (since they happen extremely often), and it’s the reason why they offered me the unit at a very discounted price. I had to miss work for two days, could not sleep at the unit since the people were not kicked out of it promptly (and they continued to argue violently day and night and the police couldn't do anything), and somehow still had to manage showing people the unit to take over my lease which couldn't be possible one day because the people were still fighting. So, not only was this unit dangerous, a nightmare AND management was useless, BUT I couldn't even show it because of the violence occurring 24/7. I felt trapped. (continued)

(continued) I let Christine and Alexandria know about everything that was occurring and they failed to help time and time again, which is why I repeatedly asked them to give me the contact information of Alexandria’s boss, and they never provided it. I called First Service Residential only to be directed to the US and be told that they haven’t managed the building since the summer and that Karen King & Associates Inc. are now the ones in charge. I was given a phone number, talked to someone there, and they told me they don’t even know what building One6 is. To this day, although they say they’re managed by First Service Residential, I found zero proof that they are. Imagine my frustration throughout this whole ordeal. To end, they rejected every single applicant that applied to take over my lease. Once I told them that it seemed like they were doing this on purpose, I was contacted by Alexandria over the phone (mind you, this was more than a week after all these incidents started occurring in a row), and she told me that although it is “unusual”, they were going to allow the cancellation of my lease agreement for a fee of $250. I let her know in an email that this wasn’t fair, to which she responded that it was since I still had so many months left on my lease term. I told her that a $250 lease break fee is fair when the tenant is choosing to leave for reasons that don't pertain to the building, but I was leaving 100% because of their security issues, irresponsibility and incompetency. I pointed out that it didn’t matter how many months were left on the lease term. It was their fault, they failed me, and they are failing everybody at One6. I never received a response to that email. I ended up paying the $250 and am thankfully now gone. Currently renting a more expensive place but not regretting it one bit because peace and security are non-negotiable. To One6 and management: You are irresponsible thieves and I’m so relieved and happy to never have to deal with you again. You could care less about your tenant's safety and have the audacity to make profit even as a result of circumstances like these, which again, are YOUR fault. I could say much more to you but you’ve already read it in the emails I’ve sent you. People; STAY AWAY FROM ONE6. PS: Alexandria let me know that there are many police investigations currently ongoing at One6. I’m not surprised.

Worse place to live. Car theft happens regularly, and the elevator doesn't work. No safety. The homeless camp out in the back and steal car parts, even tho the parking is paid. Management is a joke. Their answer to everything is we will check the cameras, or we can't do anything.

Great experience living at this building. The management has been switched over and Jemma has done an amazing job since she started. Quick replies to emails, quick repairs, overall great job at managing the building. Close to SAIT and UofC, outstanding location, close to downtown and grocery stores. Jemma has handled noise complaints and both her and Macdonald have increased the security in the parkade. Great job to both of Jemma and Macdonald.

I loved the building when I moved in but since management or the rental company changed & in person classes resumed at SAIT it’s changed a lot. If you are a student this building would be great but if you’re older- stay away! The other reviews speak for themselves but I just wanted to add my experience so others can make an informed decision about this building. -The roof top patio is gorgeous but almost every time I went there last summer there was garbage and empty cans everywhere. The fire pits and bbqs are all broken or do not have any fuel to use them. -For most of my time there it was a fairly quiet building but there was one very loud neighbour that persisted with the noise even after multiple complaints to management. -Repairs will either take months and lots of nagging or are completely ignored. Either the repair reporting system doesn’t work or they simply do not care that much about the building. I had a dishwasher leak that I was told would be fixed right away but no follow up at all and I had to get fixed myself. I was also told giant paint chips from a previous tenant would be fixed once the covid restrictions lifted. This never happened even after reminding management multiple times. -The stairwell entrances had the ability to be used to enter the building with a FOB but that was taken away last summer and the doors have been used as only exits. That decision by management stranded myself and many others in the lobby (no stair access in lobby) on a Sunday night when both elevators broke down. Was told someone would come in the morning which isn’t helpful at 10 pm when I needed to get home. Luckily one of the stairwells has FOB access again after the incident but if you’re like me and enjoy taking the stairs, unless you live on that side of the building you will probably have to stick to the elevator when coming home. -The garbage room is only accessible from outside and seems to always be full… more garbage bins are definitely needed for the size of the building. +Central a/c in the units was amazing in the summer! +The location is unbeatable in terms of nearby grocery stores, parks and transit. Very close to downtown , 5 minute drive and would only take me 20 minutes max to get to work downtown on transit. If you’re over 25 and looking for a quieter building with good management and amenities - I don’t recommend this place. For a similar price there is better out there with more amenities and better management! If you’re in college this might be a good fit as it’s a brand new building and would be a great first apartment for students at SAIT/ACAD anod U of C. Keep your expectations low for this place.
