Pizza 73 - Calgary

IMHO not the best pizza in town, but the best within 1km of the motel where I usually stay. Prices are better than other places. Staff is... How can can I put it... It just looks like they don't like their jobs and don't try to hide it. They aren't disrespectful but they aren't nice.

If it were possible to rate this particular location (at 2029 16th Ave NW) ZERO stars, I would. Here's the scenario: my mother placed an order online using their cruddy app at approximately 9:45 p.m.- 45 minutes before I finished work to go pick it up. When I arrive at 10:30 p.m., I am told no such order was placed. I'm hungry after a long day's work and she's diabetic and waiting at home for food that was supposed to be ready within 30 minutes of being ordered (roughly 15 minutes before I arrived). Customer service is called by the staff and they "apologize" with exactly one word: "Sorry." Wow. Furthermore, customer service implies that the app not taking the order is OUR fault. Not cool. Top it off with the fact that no offer of a discount, voucher or free food item in apology despite the fact that it has now been ONE HOUR AND TEN MINUTES since the order was first placed. Not a single employee at this location apologized for the foul up or even made me feel welcome as a person (though they were happy to take my money). Needless to say, but this particular Pizza 73 has lost a pair of customers to their subpar customer service (both in store AND over the phone). It will be a LONG time (if ever) again before I take my business there. I will NOT be recommending Pizza 73 to family, friends or strangers on the street. In fact, quite the opposite. In a city FULL of pizza dining options, it is unwise to alienate your customer base. Sadly, that is the one thing they did really well tonight. Bravo.

If I could give 0 I would. However I need a minimum to write this review. A late night pizza ordered for pickup was retrieved as the doors were closing. Upon arrival home my partner and I shared a slice of pizza each and put it in the fridge. This afternoon I went to re-heat a few slices when I found a hair baked into the dough. (Pictures attached) gross but NOT THE REASON FOR THIS REVIEW When my partner went in to show the establishment the hair in the pizza he was met with aggression and hostility. Y the owner. He was called a liar and told the police were being called on him. The owner (confirmed as owner on a later video) forcefully removed the pizza from my partners hands and disposed of it while yelling at him to get out. My partner returned to the establishment with the receipt and myself in tow with our 1 year old so he had an extra witness should he be under further scrutiny. The owner left the establishment upon our arrival and refused to say anything to us and got into his vehicle as we drove up. Leaving his employees to deal with it. He then called to be on the phone while we were talking to them. They tried to claim they could not refund the cash for the pizza portion without the owner present. I told them to call him back into the store since he isn't far as we watched him leave. The delivery driver then signaled them to return the money (bluetooth isn't that sneaky when you accept a call in your main phone) TlDR: the owner is shady and violent, even with proof and photo evidence of foreign objects he threatens to call the police on you when you try to return/ request a new pie in under 24 hours.

I bought a medium Tandoori Pizza yesterday night. The taste was disgusting. Had a very awful experience with this store. And also they gave me a hand toast bread instead of thin crust. Where it was printed thin crust in the check.

The pizza is delicious here. The food is always made hot and fresh for me. The staff are friendly and caring.

I tried ordering online, then on the app and it wasn't working. So I ended up calling and was put on hold for a really long time. When I finally got my pizza, it just meh. It had way too much cheese and barsly any pepperoni, and the wings had way too much sauce. I hadn't ordered from here in many years. Now I remember why.

I wish I can place an order to a different location since my kid still likes Pizza 73 (the only reason why I still order here). The delivery man is unbelievable. Always pretending that the buzzer at my place is not working. Not the first time he lied about this. This is supposed to be a contactless transaction, but today he just refused to bring our order to our doorstep. I expect a decent service from this location since I paid for the delivery fee and all other fees. We ordered large curly fries and there's only half a box of fries inside. It used to be full.

Just ordered a plant based chicken burger, the patty looks quite like real meat and since not having tasted actual chicken in over three years it’s the closest thing I’ve had. I got my boyfriend (meat eater lol) to try it and he couldn’t confidently say it wasn’t chicken either lol. So we reached out to the store and she re assured us it was fake chicken, and was very kind! I think it’s a lite life patty, and damn it’s good. I googled the product, science has come so far.
