β β β β β A bit pricier compared to the other Asian bakeries around here, but some of the baked goods are worth it in my opinion. Most items are self serve (grab a tray and a pair of tongs) with the exception of the cakes. Staff are efficient at packing your bread orders (though sometimes haphazardly) but they are not friendly, and everyone seems to have an attitude. Don't think I've ever been greeted with a "hello" or even a smile. Also they never give you your receipt.

β β β β β I get my pastries here before heading next door to Starbucks. One of my favourite items is the peanut balls, two per package. Made fresh each morning, the glutinous rice outside is soft like a mochi ball. Inside is filled with peanuts and lightly coated with coconut bits. They sometimes run out near the end of the day. Gone are the free plastic bags, bring your own reusable bag or pay $0.17 for paper bag or $0.56 for a paper box. Good reason for repurposing your Amazon Prime boxes.

β β β β β Maxim's Bakery has pretty good cakes and pastries. If you get your cakes at a certain Supermarket, it will come frozen and never know how long it has been stored it in the back freezer. Remember always try to pick what is fresh.

β β β β β Maxim's is a family favourite Asian style bakery. They have lots of different self serve buns (barbecue pork, pineapple, and weiner buns to name a few) and counter service for cake slices. Cash only.

β β β β β Had a fresh mango cake here, 8inch around $45(canβt remember it clearly.)As you can see from here, the fresh mango isnβt so fresh, and this cake is super sour! I even saw the lady brush the mango with syrup on top, but it still tasted horrible sour! Donβt buy the mango cake from here, there is better place to go in the town

β β β β β Ordered a 8β bday fruit cake. It came with a pink plastic wrap (to protect the cake). After we removed the wrap, cream came off with it. Its so ugly!!! Called Victoria location. The person who answered the call had no idea. Whomever came up with this idea should get fired!! Itβs ugly but eatable. Boy was I wrong. The fresh cream tasted sour. Maybe this cake has been sitting in the fridge for too many days? This same issue happened few years ago. Never going back to Maxim on Victoria again!
