food is tasty but not worth it at all, order the $48 omakase chirashi, but most of the fish is just cheaper fish, and may be I'm sensitive but they are kinda homophobia as well

A definitely gem. True hidden hole-in-the-wall. They didn’t take me in when I first got there since I didn’t make a reservation, which piqued my interests. And it always seemed to be full. So I decided to give it a shot the next time around. And let me tell ya, I was so impressed. Top-quality fish, fresh as the day is long, and rice seasoning was on-point. Pricing is unbeatable, proportion is beautiful, and overall taste is just magnificient. I’m a traditionalist when it comes to sushi, and this place hits all the spot. Definitely will be back!!

I am not sure if this is the same place I used to go 13, 14 years ago... at that time it was newly opened and run by a cute old Japanese couple. I was a university student back then living just one street down, so went there often for a quick, delicious meal. The food was amazing. But their kind heart was just golden. Sharing one story here: one day, I told them I was really sick but worried because my exam was coming up. The wife of the chef called that evening and asked me to pick up some soup from their restaurant. It was salmon head soup, and was the best fish soup I have ever had until now, and they refused to receive the payment but just kept saying "get better". I had to leave Vancouver right after my graduation, quite suddenly. And could not say a proper goodbye to the couple. I hope they are well and their business is thriving :) so I can visit them many times when covid is over! Miss their food and the kindness time to time.

Cute Japanese mom and pop restaurant, they have special dishes that you don’t typically see at other sushi restaurants, we tried the flying fish sushi and it’s very yummy! Please note that they are reservation only, so it’s best to call ahead of time.

So happy to encounter this restaurant from a friend’s recommendation, what a hidden gem! Food: over the top ⭐️ Price: decent for the size and quality ⭐️ Service: over the top ⭐️ We ordered the Assorted Nigiri and extra Nigiris, large portion of fresh seafood, sushi rice at its best taste. Basically all I am looking for! ( Note: their nigiris already include wasabi inside, so try not to add extra to the soy sauce!) Staff is very professional, attentive, detail oriented! I will come back and eat more!!

Easily the best sushi for its price point. Run by a family of 3 Japanese, they treat you with kindness and politeness. I haven't had unagi as good as Japan anywhere else in Vancouver except here. Give it a try, and don't forget to make a reservation.

One of my favorite hidden gem sushi place in Vancouver. The food is always fresh here. We like the restaurant not just a sushi bar, but also provide some grilled fish. The red bean green tea ice cream is amazing. The red bean was cooked well, soft enough and still with texture, sweet and well matched with the green tea flavor. Family owned restaurant, father and daughter working in the kitchen, mother is waitress. Make reservation, and be patient with the wait. The food is worth it.

Loved this local mom and pop shop. This is an extremely small restaurant with only three tables serving a great meal. The owners and staff are extremely nice and pleasant to talk to about their fish and what they offer. I thought the fish was fresh and the rice was decent. The cuts were large and flavorful. We ordered the omakase set and then proceeded to order a few more pieces to try out all their selection and to top up the experience. This is very out of the way from the city core but worth the travel. Just make sure to call ahead and book a spot before you go.
