★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Recently I was on Vancouver Island for a three day cycling trip. Day 1 I had a mechanical on my rental bike (rental NOT from Macs) . I dropped into Macs for help with resolving the issue, which very likely could have spoiled the three day trip. Inspite of me not buying anything or having an appointment, the guys at this shop were super friendly and more than willing to help me out. I even offered to pay them and they refused! Good karma here people! Thanks Macs!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice store owner, very experienced. Their shop is small but they carry a bit of everything and their products are high quality. I've gotten a few products from them and a bike. They carry mostly Norco bikes if I'm not mistaken.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I'm still mindblown by how nice, competent and service oriented the folks at Mac's are. Great service, fast and reliable, always really friendly and that old school attitude where they send you to their competitors who will more likely be able to help you with that one very special issue they tried but couldn't solve themselves (and which is not due to them, but to the bike that had a vintage part they couldn't get their hands on). Being a traditionally trained, old school bookseller from Europe, having come up with the same collegial attitude - always the customer's best interest in mind, sending people to other stores if they were more likely to help them - I really appreciated that. That mindset is not for granted anymore, bike shops or book stores, and I will be back because of that (and all the other reasons mentioned). Five stars!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Maintenance less expensive than other places, very friendly staff, fast service (no need to wait 2 weeks until next availble appointment). Not a 5 star rating because of a single thing - the chain looks super dirty while they claim they cleaned it.
