My daughter was recently body shamed at this store. Funny thing is she bought a size 10 dress elsewhere and loves it. Thanks for giving a teenage girl such a terrible experience when shopping with her friends.

I visited Laura Plus in Georgian Mall, Barrie today for the first time. I walked in and as protocol tells us we need to sanitize hands before entering. No problem! I stuck my hand under the dispenser and waited for it to disperse the sanitizer…(it was a sensor). I chuckled cause it wasn’t working. I laughingly said “it’s not working”. A blond lady proceeded to say “just keep your hand there, it will work”. So I did and a whole bunch of sanitizer came out on my hand. I proceeded to shake a bit off, to get it to absorb faster as I was using a walker and didn’t want excess sanitizer on the handles. The blond lady said “don’t get that on my floor”….Just like that!! I said “pardon, what did you say about the floor?” She continued to walk away from me mumbling. I know she heard me. I asked her 3 times and she completely ignored me. I then said “I will never shop in this store again”. What an ignorant sales associate. So you know, I visited this store today July 16 at approx 2 pm. Please advise this employee that her kind of behaviour is not warranted. She is not a good associate. She should be fired!! Thank you for your time.

My friends and I went prom dress shopping here and honestly found some gorgeous dresses, however, the woman that helped us was always very close and was watching us like a hawk which I guess I get, a couple teenagers come into a store and you want to make sure they are not messing around. BUT the reason I am leaving this review is because the woman who helped us said a VERY rude comment to one of my friends. She is about a size 10 or 12 (which we did not find out until we went to a different dress store afterwards). Laura's sizes go up to 12. My friend wanted to find a dress and wanted to see what her size was but when talking about it, the woman there looked her up and down and very rudely said "we don't carry your size" so she did not even think about trying a dress on and she was upset at how the lady talked to her as well as the fact that we found out after we left the store that she could have tried on some of the dresses she was looking at.

i’m not one to write bad reviews, but the customer service here was atrocious. i also work in retail & understand the struggles of trying to make sales, but my experience here was unreal. my boyfriend & i were looking for a dress for prom, & im about a size 2-4. i chose a dress that was size 4, thinking it might be too big. i ask to try it on, & she leads me into a change room that can’t close. i end up undressing, not realizing that the line of customers at the cashier could see me. i immediately try to close it, but the curtain is too short. she ends up taping it shut. really not classy. she then barges into my change room & tries to make the dress tighter than it actually is, saying i’m “too big for it” & i “need to go up in a size.” when she leaves (finally), the dress feels too big on me? not the other way around. she stood by my change room the whole time & didn’t give me or my boyfriend any privacy. i then asked the return policy, she said they didn’t have one (yeah right). then proceeded to follow me out the store after i said i didn’t want to purchase it & changed the return policy after i wanted to leave from no returns, to fourteen days lol

Horrible customer service. My mother and I went into the store so she could find something for her trip in the summer. We were not greeted by any of the employees (the store had maybe two other customers in it other than my mother and I.) we had walked past three different employees and they didn’t even look at us. When we finally found something for my mom, the register area was empty. We waited maybe three minutes before someone came over to check us out. And again, it was still just two other people and my mother and I in the store. My mother (being the understanding and nice women she is.) was ok with it and was ready to pay and go. After she paid she said ‘thank you have a nice day’ to the employee at the cash, and the employee ignored my mother completely and acted like she was busy again doing nothing. I’ve worked in retail for a long time, and I’ve never in my life seen a store with such unapproachable staff.

I am not the one to leave bad reviews as I am a very understanding person who also works in customer service but this has to be the most horrible experience I have ever had. My friend and I where shopping for our prom dresses today and the second we walked through the doors we felt extremely judged and uncomfortable and the ladies working were exceptionally rude. We where told that we could only choose one dress each to try on, while others that had their parents with them had many many dresses at a time while being helped. I might add that I am almost 18 years old and have two jobs and I pay all of my expenses myself so there is no reason to being treated poorly as we are not children. On top of it all we where informed that she and I had to share a changing room… (it wasn’t even busy and there where many open changing rooms) We felt like we where being treated as if we where 2 years old. While I was waiting for my friend to try her dress on, an employee stormed over and I had the dress taken out of my hands and hung up on a rack behind me very aggressively and rudely. In doing so as if I couldn’t hold a dress right. I was very respectful and careful and if she had just mentioned that I could hang it behind me while I wait i would have done so without a problem! After both my friend and I had our dresses on we wanted to switch and see which style we liked better but of course how could we do that when we where only allowed one small dressing room? I then just used the open one next to my friend for a quick second so we could swap and did not see the harm in that but afterwards got in trouble and apparently if we wanted to swap we had to change together at the same time in our tiny fitting room. We where also watched like a hawk the entire time and never once was asked what they could do to help. If they ever came over it was to give us trouble or tell us the “rules”. We where so fed up by the atrocious customer service and was done with how we where being treated and took our business elsewhere and we will never be going back. I am absolutely shocked of how we where treated and spoken too and it was unexceptionable.

Sarah was a lovely help. I had been in a few times to find a dress for a wedding. She made great recommendations and helped me find a dress that I love. She has a great personality and is so helpful! Best experience I’ve had shopping for a dress. I will definitely be coming back to shop here thanks to Sarah’s outstanding customer service.

Everything is so beautiful here. The staff are awesome and helpful. They are not pushy either. Came for a look and bought a beautiful dress with pockets!! They take care with the clothing when wrapping it up. Any event you have, I recommend you check them out. I wasn't disappointed.
