★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gemco is a WHOLESALE to trades/contracting company. Very nice showroom with a wide variety of. Natural gas burning products including furnaces, thermostates, heat recovery ventilators, fireplaces, humidifiers & electric fireplaces etc.
Very kind, informative & effective staff at the counter.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Prior to showing up at the store, I called to ensure they would have the replacement piece I needed for my fireplace. The person I spoke with on the phone kept interupting me and when I offered to provide the model number for my fireplace, they said that it wasn't necessary and the store would have the part I needed.
When I arrived, I was quickly told that the store didn't even sell parts for the brand of fireplace I had (Heat & Glo). It's very frustrating because I just drove 40 minutes to come to the store when I tried to do my due diligence beforehand. I'm highly unimpressed with the staff member I spoke with here. I will not be using Gemco for any business in the future.
Gemco, please don't rush through people's phone calls. Listen to what they're saying... I just lost half of my afternoon and a bunch of gas for nothing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We've used this company before when building our new house and they were fine, but their customer service has taken a turn for the worst.
I tried calling to get some information on a fireplace for our basement build. The associate on the phone kept putting me on hold. The first time they hung up and the second time they put me directly on hold for quite some time before hanging up yet again. I even left a message, but did not get a call back. I ended up calling and purchasing a gas fireplace from another company in the end.
It really seems like this company has been going downhill with their customer service as of late. There is so much competition in this space within our city, so my advice is to simply shop around and go with the company that offers the best service, because prices are roughly all the same.
As a small business owner, I would be disappointed if any of my staff treated a customer this way.

One yielded no response, and another asked us to make an unnecessary trip into the store…Vern at Gemco was easily the most eager to accommodate. Installers were quick and polite. I enthusiastically look forward to many winter evenings of drinking whiskey by a comforting fire while ignoring my wife and children.

It fits perfectly and looks really nice.
The installer Dave really knew his job.
After sales service with Gerry was exemplary. He is a salesperson who knows his business.
I would highly recommend Gemco Fireplaces.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After checking out 3 fireplace suppliers, we chose Gemco. Their quote was competitive, but more importantly,, it was Vern's straight forward and trustworthy manner that made us select them. Ryder and his apprentice carried on the great service during installation, and we are very pleased with the end result. Gemco has these 3 amazing employees that should be greatly valued. I would not hesitate to recommend Gemco to anyone, and if I could give them more than 5 stars, I would.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice store. We are looking for a gas fireplace insert to replace the 27 year old one, originally installed when we built our house. A lot of variety and prices to choose from. Larry was really helpful and gave us a detailed quote including cost of removal of the old insert, which is helpful in case I want to do it myself.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Clint from Gemco serviced our gas fireplace yesterday and did an amazing job. We'd recently moved into our house and it had appeared the fireplace might not have been serviced in some time and had dirty glass. Clint showed up exactly on time and was very professional. He did an amazing job of cleaning everything and touched up the paint. He was also able to clean up the glass on the front that we thought might be permanently stained. The fireplace now looks new again. Clint also left behind some extra cleaner and was great with providing advice. I'm glad we picked Gemco and will be using them again for our fireplace needs in the future.
