Claire's

I came here the other day to get a piercing done and I had a difficult experience with one of your employees, I believe her name was Richelle. She was being awfully impatient and arrogant with me and my mother, and I couldn't help but notice it was because of my skin tone. She was kind to other customers, specifically non coloured people. I do not want to jump to this conclusion, but I believe racial prejudice had influenced her impolite and inappropriate behaviour. I do not wish to deal with this kind of employee again.

I would like to provide feedback from my recent Visit to Claire's store in South Edmonton Common in Edmonton , Alberta , Canada . I visited Claire's store today ( Sunday 2 May 2021 ) around 4:20 pm along with my wife to get my 4 Month Old Daughter's ears pierced . It was beyond disrespectful experience from customer service Representative named ( i believe Tanveer or Tanvir ) . We had ear piercing appointment booked at this store and we arrived at proper time , we waited outside the store with newborn patiently for our number to get in store . Once we went inside we were told Claire's store have pandemic / Covid19 related restrictions in place and store can only allow 5 Adult Shoppers inside the store and because of this reason we were told by " Tanvir " that only one parent can stay with child who gets ears pierced . Me and my wife we both were puzzled because when we booked an appointment over the phone we were not told of such restrictions and upon arrival we were told that one of the parent have to stay outside the store only because according to "Tanvir " there was line up outside the store and she wanted to allow more shoppers to visit store but not parents to get their child's ear pierced . We were completely shocked and stressed as we knew our 4 month old baby is not so easy to handle specially when she is going to get ear pierced . We requested staff to allow both of us parents to stay with baby and were agreed to follow store guideline of maintaining physical distancing and wear mask on but " Tanvir " strongly refused our request and said because there is line outside the store and ear piercing is not so essential that it requires both parents to be with child at the same time. Basically she wanted to get more shoppers inside who may or may not buy anything from store but she didn't want us to be together with baby . We argued with her as she can allow both of us the parents to be inside store at the same time and still follow only 5 adults guidelines inside the store by allowing only 3 other shoppers from outside but she was not convinced and asked us to follow her order or she will have to force us to leave . At this point me and my wife were super upset and as we were expecting a smooth and happy experience by visiting Claire's store which turned into a horrific experience . We managed to have our daughter's ear pierced by me as father stayed outside the store and mother stayed inside the store with Child and at some point when baby was so cranky and crying out loud , became uncontrollable and needed to stay steady to get her ear pierced i had to rush inside to support my wife to control or calm baby . At this point " Tanvir " rolled her eyes and did not like me visiting my baby inside store when mother was already with child . My concern is when other adult couples were allowed to shop inside the store together with kids why staff members did not allow us to be together . This was the most horrible experience I ever had at any Claire's location . I strongly believe such staff members should never be allowed at any work who does not maintain discipline in greeting customers equally . Tanvir should have allowed us to visit the store together in the first place by considering we were getting our 4 month old baby's ear pierced but she was so much worried to get her store sales numbers higher and only wanted other shoppers to allowed inside store no matter family of 4 or 5 but just not us husband wife together inside the store . Me and my wife we both are deeply saddened and upset and stressed out because it has left very unpleasant memory in our head and we don't think we will ever go back to such disrespectful store . I just hope no other parents ever have to go through such poorly handled situations at any store , can't post it without any star and that's the only reason gave it a star . I hope and wish management will get to know of this incident and will take steps appropriately .

Michelle, the assistant manager had great service and was able to help with everything that was needed. I would def come again

Michelle helped us out alot she’s really the goat around here yall should give her a raise she was friendly and helped me and my friend get our piercings in order as well much love to her ?

I had a great experience with Michelle the assistant manager,she pierced my Bf ears and his friend .She was amazing and so friendly if u want good service go to this Claire’s !

I bought few items from the store and they charged my credit card twice (double charge) I showed them that I was double charged and it was posted on bank account but they continued to argue it respectfully that they corrected but did not hand me any receipt that says otherwise. I called the bank to dispute the charges. Just wasting of time and stress caused by unprofessional staff

Had my toddlers ears pierced there and they're quick and u get 20% off the whole store purchases afterwards so I love it there, thinking of going to get my piercing done like a spider bite. Awesome ?

I went into Claire's today to get a few piercings and I had such a wonderful experience! Thank you Sophia and Emily! My piercings are perfect and so beautiful! I can't recommend Claire's enough! Your selection is beautiful as always. See you again soon!
