ABOUT THE ALDO GROUP

With over 45 years of experience, the ALDO Group is a world-leading creator and operator of desirable footwear and accessory brands. Founded and headquartered in Montreal, Canada, the ALDO Group is one of the world’s leading fashion retailers.
With 3,000 points of sale in over 100 countries around the world, the ALDO Group operates under two signature brands, Aldo and Call It Spring, and a multi-brand retail concept, GLOBO. In order to serve a worldwide network of stores, the ALDO Group has set up offices and distribution centres around the globe, and works with factories from all over the world.
The ALDO Group places a premium on being a good corporate citizen by working to enrich local communities. It is this simple, yet powerful philosophy that has fuelled the constant innovation of the ALDO Group.

MODERN SLAVERY STATEMENT / ETHICAL SOURCING POLICY

The ALDO Group is aware of the risks of slavery servitude, forced labour, human trafficking and other methods of modern slavery in the retail business and its associated supply chain, and is therefore committed to ensuring that our business decisions support social welfare and positively impact the countries in which we operate.
Our Code of Conduct and our vendor manual specify the requirements and best practices by which all of our vendors and their own factories must abide, including, such as, employment standards, legal requirements and environmental protection. The ALDO Group’s Code of Conduct expressly prohibits the use of child or forced labor and any form of coercion, abuse or harassment. It further specifies that manufacturing partners must associate with factories that comply with legal requirements in any country in which their business is conducted and which meet or exceed our standards.

FACTORY MONITORING

The ALDO Group conducts regular audits of active factories based on the conditions outlined in our Code of Conduct and our vendor manual. These take place in the form of announced and unannounced on-site inspections, as well as on-site and off-site discussions with factory workers conducted by independent monitoring firms and our Social Compliance team. Any non-compliance is detailed in a corrective action plan.
The ALDO Group takes pride in the following:
•In 2018, a total of 338 audits were conducted from which 71% were semi-announced
•Every new factory undergoes a pre-approval process against the Code of Conduct and must be able to prove compliance for production orders to be placed.
•Investigating for forced labour is part of our audit methodology.
•Confidential factory worker and management interviews are mandatory during any audit
•Recruitment and compensation practices are reviewed during the factory audit.
•Findings that are considered a severe threat to factory workers’ lives or safety, including forced, trafficked, and compulsory or prison labour, are dealt with for immediate remediation and action for all stakeholders involved.
As part of our monitoring and verification programs, the Social Compliance team is trained on preserving the mission, values and principles found in our Code of Conduct. Their visits to factories ensure that the Code of Conduct’s requirements are integrated and preserved, and that all questionable behaviours are reported.
The ALDO Group prioritizes a collaborative approach to help them when implementing any required corrective actions. In the event a satisfactory resolution is not reached within the agreed upon time frame or is not possible, the ALDO Group can terminate the business relationship with the non-compliant vendors.

ENGAGING FACTORIES

Our efforts to ensure that factories adhere to legal requirements, respect our standards and provide a safe and healthy work environment to all their factory workers go beyond factory monitoring and on-site audits. The ALDO Group encourage factories to take ownership of their sustainability performance by providing guidance, training manuals and facilitating workshops that address modern supply chain challenges.
In 2018, 111 factories were trained by the ALDO Group’s social compliance team and external consultants in various subjects such as working hours, wages and benefits and modern slavery through regular face-to-face workshops held throughout the year.

MULTISTAKEHOLDER COLLABORATION

The ALDO Group is a proud and active member of the Sustainable Apparel Coalition whose focus is building the Higg Index, a standardized supply chain measurement tool for apparel and footwear industry members to understand the environmental, social and labor impacts of making and selling products and services. By measuring sustainability performance, the ALDO Group wishes to address inefficiencies, resolve damaging practices, and achieve the environmental and social transparency demanded by consumers. By joining forces with the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, we can address the urgent, systemic challenges that are impossible to change alone.
The ALDO Group is constantly looking for ways to tackle this important global and multi-sector issue. We continue to advance our current initiatives in modern slavery prevention and to tackle the issue by providing further guidance and assistance to our supply chains.

I have the worst experience with the store over here . Firstly no customer service one of the employee over there, "wish she had a name badge so i could put down here".She is so Rude,Arrogant, over confident and doesn't even know her products they are selling.First time,we went there we told her about the discounts on bag and she literally just said i know better i have never seen any discount on bags and it cannot be true.We showed her online and other franchises still she refused to accept it. Second time, My wife had to make one return she ordered online and it took more than 2 months to come so we didn't needed it anymore. We showed her the online bill and reciept which clearly had the discounted price and everything on it. She wasted 1 whole hour figuring out the math. She even stopped her co -workers which were going to help us in returing the product. She jumped in and took over that it is not right.I mean she couldn't help and she didn't let others help as well.We got frustrated and left the store. In whole time she kept saying it won't take much longer that she just figured how to do it and next moment no its not the right way.

Super friendly staff and so crazy helpful. I'd put some shoes on hold (last pair in that size within the whole company!!) and once I got there got side tracked by all of the beautiful boots they have on display. One of the girl there brought me out a few different pairs she thought I might like (which I did) and then was super helpful as I was trying on the shoes I'd set aside. I'll definitely be back not just for the cute shoes but for the really comfortable service they give there.

I had the worst experience at this location today. I been here once before. I saw the manager arguing to a customer about not entering the store and locking the store from inside. I had no problem that time. But today I went there with my partner. As we went in store and started looking shoes together. Another customer and manager herself came close to us. But other than accepting her mistake she started giving me lecture like *KAREN*. Please stay 6 feet away from me don’t go close to any customer. I was shocked and left the store and didn’t argue because there were more customers in store. But i was surprised that how being a manager she is providing such a bad service. No wonder I see more bad reviews about store and customer service recently. Probably won’t go while she will be there or I if I go I would tell her personally.

I had an online order and chose this store for pick up. After 3 weeks and no news I checked through their website which said my order was ready for pickup. Went to store and I have to say the customer service was pretty bad. I was told the order was NOT ready and I have to call the corporate. Called the corporate and waited 45 minutes to speak to agent and was hung up on. Called the second time and waited another 45 minutes and was finally able to make sure that my order will be available for pickup at this location. Went for the second time and finally got my order in a not so new box. Pretty bad experience for this company and this store specifically.

Horrrible customer service in this location the store manager and another worker with purple hair have zero sense of customer service and have no idea how to deal with customers if these are the kind of people hired that are rude and racist towards customers not a place you want to be in.

We had a very very great experience with this Call it Spring location... The staff and Manager were awesome. I can say their best to best level. I had to do price adjustments with the shoes and it just happened so quickly and efficiently.

My sister and I w ere assisted by Matthew, he was so great in brining all the shoes we asked for out super efficient and friendly. Matthew went above and beyond and even helped carry out the shoes to our car. As Someone who is also in the service industry, I was thoroughly impressed! Keep it up!!

I went to the store around 2:30 pm today( May 16,2022) a young guy and a girl was working at the time. The customer service was the worst I have seen so far. I was there for good half n hour in the store trying different shoes. Employees didn’t bother to help us. I have to go to the counter and ask them for every question I had. Finally I like a product and asked the lady to check the size at the back. Without checking the inventory she just dismayed me and said it’s the last piece. Didn’t even bother to go and check at the back or offered to call other store. Looked like they didn’t want to do their job. I was ready to buy and give my money but they don’t want it. This kind of service brings the brand name down too. I loved call it spring, have purchased shoes in the past. But I am not going to give my money where it’s not valued. I hope management talks to the staff and give them the proper training needed.
