Terrible experience. I went in to pay off my credit card and cancel it since I didn't need it. Gave them cash from the ATM to pay it off, and thought it was a done deal, credit card account was closed, card was cut up, and thrown in the garbage by the man helping me. 4 months later I get a sternly-worded letter in the mail saying I have to pay off my credit card immediately or else it will go to collections (!) I went into the branch to ask what was going on, and was basically told to go eff myself because there was no record of my transaction. It was paid in cash, there was no electronic "paper trail". I tore my house apart looking for the receipt, then realized that since it was (supposed to be) an account that was closed 4 MONTHS AGO, I probably threw out the receipt thinking I wouldn't need it. I've spoken with them 3 times trying to resolve this, but they are adamant that there is nothing they can do. So they made me pay off my card AGAIN. I feel like something criminal has happened, the gentleman who helped me that day made a MAJOR ERROR that cost me over $100. I just want to know where my money went that day. Apparently it just disappeared...or someone there had a really expensive lunch on my dime....CIBC just lost a long-time customer. I get that people make mistakes, but this is unforgivable. DO NOT USE THIS BRANCH.

Worst CIBC bank ever!! Terrible experience BOTH times, cashier clerks are extremely rude, and are indirect!! Save yourself the time an go to a different location.

I deposited two cheques and I put each one in a separate envelope. I made sure that the cheques were sealed in the envelopes provided by CIBC. About a week and a half later I receive a letter from CIBC informing me that there was no cheque in one of the envelopes. I know for a fact that both cheques were placed into the envelopes. I contacted CIBC Customer Service and was told the same thing; that the one envelope contained no cheque. This is a bunch of BS and all I can think of is that the person at CIBC who was going through the envelopes with the cheques in them either (inadvertently?) threw out the cheque or ...?. Luckily it was a very small cheque. I contacted the place I received the cheque from to see if it had been cashed perhaps but so far I haven’t heard anything yet. This branch only uses envelopes not like another branch I deal with where you just deposit the cheque as it is and when you request a print out of the receipt you have an image of the cheque you just deposited. I Googled to see if other people have had similar issues and with some poor souls they had deposited THOUSANDS of dollars (either in cheques or cash) and the same or similar thing(s) happened to them. When these people tried to pursue it with CIBC they either waited months with no word back or CIBC refused to help them. I will NEVER deposit my money via the ATM machine again and as far as I’m concerned CIBC should get it’s act together!

I think this place is Run by toddlers. No sense of responsibility or commitment. No respect for people's time or even people. I hope the other CIBC branches are better than this.

The worst CIBC you can imagine. It literally ruins the reputation for CIBC. They provide garbage service. I will not deal with this branch ever again.

I have recieved Very Terrible Customer Service. While there in Person, the Service is Good, but when calling in, No one answers their phone and messages are not being Answered. I have left (pleasant) messages every day for 2 Weeks and not once have I received a call back to answer my question that I was told would be answered within 24-48 hours, 3.5 weeks ago. ☹ NOT A VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER! ?

This is definitely the worst banking. From Saving to Investment. I wasted my time non-stopped. It was a simple transaction request that tuned into many useless and waiting and running around games. I was there for 2 different Appointments because the first banking advisor was not knowledgeable and trainee. I had to re-book again. The second Appointment was with a female senior advisor. She was not knowledgeable, not helpful and wasted my time. Both advisor gave all different informations and advices too. They were also racially too. She asked me pets informations that was not relevant too. She was noisy about my money finances when I only wanted an account closed. Instead Closed my Account, I had to re-open a new account instead. Instead of a private 2 person Appointment, it was not private or secure banking. Another gentleman walked and joked with the senior advisor in and out many times during our Appointments. The 1 Stars rating is accurate. Do not bank here. It not safe and secure banking or private.
