Beatnik has been so incredible during our time upgrading our new home to be OURS. Chelsie is so professional, timely, and has incredible taste. When we bought the house, it was old, outdated, and not our style at all. With her suggestions, we've upgraded so it really feels like ours. She also ensured we understood every step of the process, and really made sure we were comfortable with changes every step of the way.

I originally had agreed to not write a negative review on my experience but because I never heard from Chelsie again, there was no final inspection done, a mess was left and I’m missing ceiling vents, a door knob and a railing… I decided to share my experience with this company. I hired Chelsie back in April to develop my basement. She advised me that it would take a little over two weeks to complete and initially was very responsive and easy to deal with. As soon as I sent my deposit, which was much larger than it should have been, all communication minimized to the point that I kept having to follow up with her throughout the entire process, sometimes more than once. The renovation ended up taking 4 weeks (2 weeks overdue). She hired her brother-in-law to frame, drywall, tape and mud my basement instead of someone who was qualified. Which unfortunately resulted in the work not being completed professionally. The carpenter who did all the baseboards, trim and doors was absolutely terrible and when I sent the pictures of the hideous job that he did, I was advised that he’s actually retired and does jobs for them only once in a while. My painter (who I brought in on this job) spent an additional two hours fixing his work before he could paint. They did have someone come to fix the doors after the fact as they wouldn’t shut properly. The guys who did the carpet marked up the walls and corners which is highly noticeable. Despite doing my research (Facebook, google and Home Stars) and initially thinking I hit the jackpot, I do not recommend hiring this company. Not to mention there was never a final inspection done and the last I heard from Chelsie was 3 weeks ago. It was an awful experience all around. Edit to add after owner response: I had allowed your company to come back and fix some of the repairs but was tired of constant construction and being two weeks past the initial due date that I didn’t want to deal with any more of a mess. We did agree on that “discount”, which also included an agreement of you coming back to mount the railing, install the door knob, the ceiling vents and pick up all of the material that was left. I then followed up with you again about it to which you said you’re waiting to book an inspection. That was 3 weeks ago and I did not hear from you until I posted this review where you demanded I take this down or you would invoice me for my balance.

We had the tile replaced on our fireplace - the arch made the replacement a little more complex. But Chelsie's team executed the work flawlessly. The installer was very professional, talented and kept the work area incredibly clean throughout the entire process. I highly recommend Chelsie and her team for all of your projects big or small. Chelsie is wonderful, thoughtful and easy to work with. She will go above and beyond to make sure you are completely satisfied and love it!

My floors might be about 32 years old and have never been touched since they were put in. I recently bought this place and the hardwood floors are shiny but they have gaps and deep scratches throughout. I had another person look at them and give me a quote but this person made it seem like the job was going to be a huge undertaking. He said the floors were the worst he's ever seen and that it would take 5 days. Beatnik and Mod showed up 30mins afterwards and I felt so defeated because of the person who came before them. Beatnik said my floors were pretty standard, they had no issues with getting things up to my unit. Just the calm energy I got from them was enough for me. Cam did an amazing job on my floors. I sent him a pic of what I wanted and he started Thursday finished Friday at 5pm and I came back home on Saturday. I can't get over the fact that these are the same floors with gaps and the 90s stain. Speaking of stains I had a big stain on the floor who knows how many years it has been there. Not sure what caused it but it came out, no trace of it left. Thanks Beatnik and Mod job well done!!!

We recently contracted Chelsie and her team to replace some carpets in one of our rental condos. Chelsie was a dream to work with. She made the job effortless and went above and beyond, picking up materials, and scheduling directly with the tenants. Service and installation were 10/10. I would definitely recommend Beatnik and Mod for any future renovation projects.

While renovating our home and doing majority of the work on our own, we brought in Beatnik & Mod to help with the flooring and fireplace because of how good other reviews were and our timeline was getting tight. This was the best decision because the result was nothing short of perfection. Not only was Chelsie helpful in making selections to bring our visions to life, but she went above and beyond in answering questions about other parts of our renovation. We recently purchased a condo that required painting and new flooring and were referred to Chelsie at Beatnik & Mod. She joined us at the condo prior to our possession date and assisted in choosing the flooring and paint color. The contractors she used did a super job and were very professional and went above and beyond to make certain everything was completed to our satisfaction. We are very pleased with the result and would not hesitate to contact her in the future or recommend Beatnik & Mod to our friends.
