Used their services back in September 2021. My flight was delayed for several hours and landed in vancouver around 12 midnight. Their staff waited until I got my keys before they closed their desk. I was told that this is part of their policy if you booked at their airport location. Needless to say, I was more than glad to pay the location premium. I was running on a very tight schedule and had to drive to Whistler upon landing. I had people on my flight who had booked with other car rental agencies but were not able to get their cars. Car drop off was also very quick and straightforward. This was such a pleasant experience, a sharp contrast to my negative experience dealing with small / independent car rental agencies in the past.

We were forced to wait in a hot, stuffy queue for just under 3 years whilst the one member of staff serving the regular queue worked incredibly slowly and didn't even bother to apologise when we finally served. No other car rental companies had long queues and they clearly all had larger numbers of staff. A 3 hour queue is the absolute last thing that we needed after a really long flight. The car itself was fine, but it was a further 25 minute wait to have this brought round for us after being served at the desk. Will not be using Avis again

When I dropped off the car I was going to give a 4 or 5 star review. That was until I found a $112 charge on my credit card from Avis after I got home from my trip. We got a Ford Focus to visit Vancouver. It was clean and the pick up process was smooth at the airport. I prepaid for the rental at the time I made the reservation. When I dropped off the car the service person took the keys, went around the car and checked inside. I asked him if all was well and he said yes. I asked if I needed to see the rep at the desk as I don't want any surprises and he said no. Now I get a charge I know nothing about and have to call customer service to find out what bogus issue they got me on. It's absolutely ridiculous to have a company charge you for something you know nothing about. Their philosophy seems to be, charge the customer and let them ask questions later...if they find out that is! I returned the car with a full tank of gas.

I booked a day rental on points with this Avis location after reading Budget's bad reviews, and I am so glad I made the switch. The woman at the desk was courteous, competent, and quick. She offered me a free upgrade to an XL SUV which was fuel efficient, very clean, brand new, and fun to drive up into the mountains. When I found a small dent in the vehicle not noted on the rental contract, she recognized me when I returned the desk and resolved the matter immediately despite being with other customers. Drop-off was a breeze: I parked in the return area, left the keys with the man at the desk, and was off to my gate. I would 1000% without a doubt book with Avis YVR again next time I need a car in the Vancouver area and would recommend them to friends. Thank you for the excellent service! -from a very pleased new customer

Absolutely not impressed whatsoever. We were on a trip from Ontario to BC to do some sightseeing as well as some business work. I rented this car through my business profile. We already checked in and paid for the vehicle ahead of time approximately $600 for one week and the gentleman at approximately 11:30 at night on March 15th, would not let us take the car out of the property because we didn't have the physical MasterCard with us. We already checked in and inserted the massacred in the system for the deposit and the car was already paid for and he would not let us pay for it. So my colleague who was not on the rental agreement wanted to pay for it and he would not let him pay for it whatsoever and would not let us get the corporate deal because his name wasn't on it. I had to wake up the director of finances of one of the most expensive Enterprise technical companies of Canada to ask him if he would put my friend on the package. Keep in mind that 3:00 in the morning in Ontario. He obviously put my friend on the rental agreement to get the discounted rate. The man behind The desk tried to scam us $800 and it was not going to happen. I would not recommend Avis to anyone. 1/10 stars The only reason why it's getting one star out of 10 is because the car was brand new and was nice to drive around other than that the customer service representative was terrible. As a manager myself I would want this individual to attend customer service training. Response to the owner: I did read all of the requirements and rules for pick up. I had the debit visa associated to the Mastercard with me as the mastercard that already paid (the physical money was removed from my account) for the rental is an E-Mastercard, a physical card doesnt exsit for it. It is strictly for tap on android and ios devices only. The customer service rep wouldn't even accept the debit card. I knew that the debit card could be used to verify. This has happened to me before at hotels and other rental car companies, and they have all accepted the Debit card as they are an extension of one another. But the customer service rep said i was "wrong". Maybe instead of me being "wrong" he is misinformed. Im a sorry to break it to you, but in this case, you rep still acted immaturely, incorrectly, and abrasively. He should NOT be working as a customer service rep until he has more people and social skills.

Don't rent from AVIS rent a car at Vancouver International Airport. First, they gave me a car with the bumper damaged and a big scratch. I reported this immediately to the front desk and the guy said he didn't know about that. He gave me another car. I checked the car and everything was ok. When I returned the car, they told me there was a scratch below the bumper in the driver side. I obviously didn't see this because you practically need to get below the car to notice this. They opened a report for me like I was responsible for that, which I was not and it was almost impossible for me to notice that. It seems to me they are just looking for customers to pay for their damaged cars. Very unethical . Don't rent from this company be careful. (picture is from the first car they tried to rent out to me but I asked for another one)

Super nice and helpful staff at this location renting a car after our Flair flight switched from Kelowna to Vancouver. They were super easy to deal with and had a vehicle available for us last minute. The car was great as well, very new maybe 10k on it. Good experience.

Another great service Avis counter in the beautiful Vancouver. Very straightforward pick up and drop off service. The staff was always smiling and helpful with the quick service! The best thing of this location is that the garage is Always Bright! Unlike some of other locations the garage that was very dark and you could not check the vehicle properly! Here has a lot of lights which makes you much easier to look around the car before leaving the garage. This is most important part to me! Vehicle is clean and shining! Highly recommended.
