You don't choose the shoes here, the shoes choose you! Don't be intimidated by the store owner Ivor. Just tell him what you are looking for and he will readily assist you

The owner was extremely helpful and accommodating even though I mentioned that I was just trying things on for size. He helped dial in the size I should be wearing on certain lasts, and which parts of the shoe will stretch out (and which parts that wont). It was a quick interaction on my lunch break but I was very impressed.

He definitely knows his craft and is a very knowledgeable man. And he's the only official retailer for loake in Canada. I feel the price are reasonable, I'd definitely be back again when I am shopping for new shoes.

Ivor not only has the passion for his craft but he is very knowledgeable and detailed individual - hard to come by these days. More importantly, you are assured of great after sale service. Ivor will go out of his way to make sure that even a fastidious customer is happy with the fit and overall experience. My Chukkas had a very minor defect, and Ivor took it up on his own with the manufacturer and had the worn pair replaced from the UK. Not cheap shoes for sure but welted construction, UK made, fitted well and serviced superbly by Ivor! A rare and awesome experience.

Even if you're not buying a pair, he's happy just to chat. I highly recommend this shop. Prices are fair, and the owner is friendly.

Ivor was willing to have me try on shoes multiple times in order to make sure I was happy, and that I got the perfect fit. He even let me try on some shoes that were definitely out of my price range so I could experience them, which was unexpected but very appreciated. Ivor's even helped me when I've come in to ask about shoe trees, general leather care and polishing, etc. The shoes were pricey for sure, but you get very high quality shoes when you shop here, so it's well worth it. Next time I need dress shoes, I'm definitely visiting again!
