I've had better Japanese food in Victoria. The prawn tempura had little flavour. I've had better at the food fair in a mall. The steak sauce is a different version than what is served in most Japanese restaurants in town. I was warned that instead of being salty, it was sweet. Well, one taste and I spit it out. There is an extra charge for the steak sauce. The pork Katsu with Katsu sauce was okay and so was the salad. The mauve rice tastes like steamed rice so that was fine. There was fried veggies under the pork. In my opinion, they weren't necessary. My final bill came to $29 and change. This might be a reasonable price. My husband as I usually order several appetizers and pork Katsu at the usual Japanese restaurant we go to. The bill comes to the same amount but has fed two people. Having said all that, the restaurant was full at 7 in the evening. It might be because it is one of two Japanese restaurants in this area of town or I'm way off base in my food opinions. The service was quick and excellent. The ambience is lovely. Plenty of free parking too.

I wanted to order in a nice supper - ordered the β€œdinner special” - teriyaki beef, shrimp sunomo, sushi ( multi pieces and sashimi , miso, and tempera veg, prawn - Wow!! Impressed with food, presentation , absolutely delicious!! I had eaten at this place once before and was pleased, but this really was wonderful. A lot of food, grazed slowly and still could not finish it! Did this as delivery this time - was so impressed next time I am going there to dine in. Great food, a lot of food for the price , great presentation even for delivery. Their sushi is always excellent. The Shrimp Sunomo is my new favourite salad - light, flavourful and refreshing!

Awful experience twice now. The vegetable roll is all lettuce. The menu says it includes avocado and pepper, but the pieces were so tiny I couldn’t even see them. And the sushi was sliced so thin the lettuce just spilled out everywhere. It should be listed as a salad. Worst we have ever seen. And the Agadashi tofu had a sticky, gum-like texture that I can’t even explain. For 2 people is came to over $50 - an incredible rip off for such terrible quality.

March 8, the last few times I have ordered sushi from this restaurant it has been sub par, over priced and not fresh. Tonight we had 4 rolls and chicken yakisoba (asked for extra chicken for my Chihauhau $5) it was so sticky and gross it wasn't edible, rinsed the chicken off and fed it to my dog, the rolls were okay but there was only enough wasabi and ginger for 2 rolls. The tab was $70 with an added 15% tip. $80 bucks. Before Covid we used to dine here all the time and at Langford Sushi. We want to do our part to help our restaurants stay afloat but not at this cost. This is the last time we will be ordering from this restaurant.

Went here on the recommendation of The Celiac Scene which details safe places for gluten free food. We were not disappointed, the food was tasty and the staff went out of their way to accommodate our requirements regarding gluten free food. Only comment I would have is a hope for more gluten free options other than sushi, but a very minor inconvenience really.

Presentation was amazing!! Looked great tasted pretty good too! Favourite roll was the dragonfly roll. Sashimi was good and so was the unagi nigiri. Really good service at the beginnings but by the end they kinda forgot about us lol

Tried the Spicy Salmon Lunch combo today. I can't say I was impressed. The included tempura was undercooked. I could tasted the uncooked batter in the broccoli and the yam was nearly raw. The avocados in my california roll were starting to brown, making me question the freshness. As for the spicy salmon roll, well it was spicy. It was perhaps the spiciest salmon roll I've ever had, and that's about all, there was no flavour to the sauce, just heat. The miso soup seems a touch on the bland side as well and lacks the usual seaweed and green onion I'm used to seeing. All in all, based on this experience, I wouldn't return. I won't go so far as to say it's bad...but there was nothing that left me saying I want more from here. There are lots of great sushi places around, try another.
