I visited Koto on a recommendation from another local business owner, and was not disappointed. It was easy walking distance from the hotel, has a neat aesthetic to match the cuisine, interesting menu options, and the prices are more than fair. Our server did warn that food might be slow to come out, but that didn't match my experience--it wasn't fast food, but I certainly didn't feel that speed was an issue. For starters, my group tried the croquettes (a tasty play on multiple potato preparations), gyoza, and okonomiyaki (which had a good balance between vegetables and other fillings). The albacore sashimi portions were generous, fresh, and sweet. We also tried one of the brulΓ©e'd oshi sushi preparations. It had a larger proportion of rice than I'd expected, but the flavors were well-balanced and it was worth the experience. The highlight, oddly enough, was the oyakodon. Sweet caramelized onions, soft egg, and delicious grilled chicken took this "common" dish to the next level.

I don’t know if I ordered really good ones or all of them has this quality! Crispy roll was 7/10 and bomb roll was 10/10 the price was also reasonable I think in considering buying a sushi box from grocery costs around 10 dollar so 12-15 for a good quality sushi is reasonable. The place is nice also and staff are respectful. I’ll go back to try more. Also I thought that one roll won’t be enough for me but I had to take 6 pieces home (haha).

I would consider myself a sushi connoisseur it is my favourite food and I have eaten a lot of it, so naturally when I moved to the city I tried every sushi place imaginable, until I found this one! I never looked for a different one again because these rolls are easily the best in the city. Favourites are definitely the Tokyo night roll, one of the best rolls I’ve ever tasted, and the crispy roll. But all of them are great.

Samurai boat, plum wine and cold sake, the perfect combo for a date night with great ambiance at koto. The samurai boat also comes with miso soup, chicken teriyaki on skewers and tempura. Everything tasted so good and the servers are very friendly. Definitely one of my favorite Japanese eateries in town so far! Highly recommend the sushi boat combo, it’s perfect for party of 2, 4 or 6. You get a bit of everything! Will definitely come back again!

We had a dinner at the restaurant and ordered Sashimi. After a long time of waiting, we finally have some sashimi on the table. But after I picked one from the plate, I found the parasite inside the Salmon Sashimi. I thought that was something else but I tried to remove it. But I can’t. Why? Because it is INSIDE. And then I asked what was it to the server. Then the server checked with the chef and replied to us that the chef confirmed that was not parasite without any other explanations. Oh sorry, I am too dumb. What a beautiful blood clot looking just like a parasite. :)

Not a bad sushi place but one that left me feeling just satisfied and wishing we had done something different. We did not try anything to crazy just wanted a light meal. Ambiance was decent, with booth and tables. Miso soup was best part, the sashimi was just ok. Was not a fan of The spicy tuna roll. It was thick and sauce forward and not spicy. Was like eating canned tuna and was not pleasant, probably the worst I have ever had. Still have it 3 stars as staff was nice and we had limited selection of menus. Oh the menu’s where in bad shape, so bad I almost did it want to flip it over. The table was also sticky. We will not go back.

I haven't given a restaurant such a low rating in a long long time but this just really was that bad. We ordered take out and as soon as we took a bite of everything we felt robbed and just wanted all our money back. This place is not cheap ($8 for 5 dumplings.) The "crispy" dumplings were actually horribly soggy, greasy and lacking any flavour. The panko cheese tasted like processed cheese. But the worst was the udon noodle with beef. zero flavour at all in the broth. Even my partner who eats EVERYTHING said it was awful and just tried to poor a bunch of salt and pepper into it to get any taste. And he observed that the noodles were overcooked. It hurts to pay this much to dine out and be so badly disgusted by the food you just spent a fortune on.
