Toad 'n' Turtle Pubhouse & Grill - Airdrie

Waited 10 mins for anyone to even come to us. Ordered the fish. The batter was soggy. Husband almost couldn't eat his because took so long to get the ketchup his was getting cold. The server when she finally realized we were there was super friendly. Won't go back because of the food.

My family (my parents, my husband and our two kids) went here for mother's day yesterday. We arrived right at 11am and we were the third table that was seated. It quickly got busy and it seemed like we were forgotten about, because it took the server 40 minutes to come over and take our order. We tried to flag someone down prior to that, but there were only 2 servers working. When she finally came over to take our order she said "sorry for the wait, what do you guys want?" in a very unfriendly tone. So we ordered our food and 20 minutes passed and the manager came over asking us how we were doing. We said we had been waiting a really long time and just wondered how much longer we could expect to wait. She checked with the kitchen and said that it would be 30-45 more minutes for our food. At that point, none of us had eaten at all that morning and my kids were getting hungry, so we said that was ridiculous and to cancel our food order. We explained that we were the third table to arrive, we had watched tables receive their food that were seated after us before we even placed our order, and we even had to walk up to the bar to ask for refills on our coffee because nobody had come by. The manager got us our bill for the drinks we ordered (2 coffees and 1 apple juice) and proceeded to say "I gave you a tiny discount on the drinks and completely removed the food from your bill." She said it like she was doing us a favour, but why would we pay for food that we didnt even receive and that they hadn't even started preparing?? So we left the restaurant 1 hour and 15 minutes after we arrived without eating. At that point in the day, all other restaurants were too busy so we ended up going through the McDonald's drive thru for our mothers day lunch. I worked at a restaurant as a server many years ago and any decent manager would have offered to rush our food order and at the very least comp the 3 drinks that we ordered. My kids are very young, so this was the first mother's day that we were able to get out of the house for (because of COVID in previous years), so it was very disappointing to have this sort of experience. The server was rude right from the get-go and the manager made things worse by how she handled things. We will definitely not be returning here ever again.

Went for brunch over the weekend. Service was incredibly slow despite there only being 5 other tables in the entire restaurant. The food was incredibly underwhelming. Eggs Benedict was dramatically overcooked and under sauced. I had the scramble and they must have run out of eggs because it was essentially a heap of potatoes, some veggies and a dollop of berenaise. Arguably worst part was $4 for coffee that was cold by the time our server brought out cream, and to boot we were never offered top ups. It's a shame but highly unlikely I'd ever go for brunch there again.

Enjoyed it a lot! Just wish there was more food on my plate cuz it was really good. Got to sit on the balcony and that was pretty cool.

Has a fun pub house feel here in Airdrie. Lots of seating options and has a rustic feel to it. I liked it as a hangout lunch spot.

Great place to stop in for lunch - so on our raod trip from Lethbridge, we stopped both on our way up to, and back from, Edmonton! Decor is cozy, atmosphere is great (I was reminded of the Tilted Kilt), and the servers were attentive. Prices, especially on the daily specials, are pretty good. And the food was tasty! I'm definitely going to remember this place for my next road trips north. :) (Brooke #16 - keep up the great work!)

Loved the food and great service here yesterday. I ordered the suicide wings and my were they ever so delicious and spicy. I loved it and will be recommending my friends and everybody else i know to this fine establishments like these. Our waitress last night here was also very nice and friendly and nicely dressed, loved her and her personality as well. Thank you Turtle management for everything. I will be coming again with more people hopefully at my next stop there.

We came for a Saturday lunch between errands and we'd been wanting to give the Toad and Turtle a try. Started out with our first server not knowing the specials BUT with everything going on post vid I really give everyone a pass as they try to get back into things - both our servers did thier best but we were forgotten once or twice. Service wasn't what will keep us away unfortunately it was the food. My beef dip was chewy and not warm and my wife's fish and chips were overcooked with the batter really tough on the ends. The tastiest thing we ate was tater tots (they were super addicting). We decided not to send anything back as we were already over an hour in the restaurant and and needed to move on with our day. Overall this is probably a great spot for wing night, but we won't be back for lunch again.
