The Plaza Hotel

Nice place for a older building. Very small elevator. Clean room. I did find it on to small size.

Large bugs in both beds, menstrual blood on toilet from previous guest. Wifi/internet did not work (had to hotspot to write this), bit of a run down feel to it and not the nicest of locations.

Positive: Furniture in room was pretty. But it is a scuzzy/scary area with homeless drunks and druggies walking around...and extra parking fee to be parked OUTSIDE??!!?? Negative: The parking was an extra $8. For the night. Desk told us we could park on street for free...but ALL signs said you could NOT. The room was 100°!!! SO hot!! When we asked about a/c were told about wall controls...BUT it was ONLY a fan/rattled and clunke

Terrible part of town, zero parking near by due to the whole block being shut down for the night clubs. I’ve stayed in many hotels with pubs attached and have never experienced such loud bass throughout the whole night, huge disappointment. Over priced for such a small room with such loud surroundings.

Dont be fooled by the pictures you see. Room are actually Not roomy... 5th floor is very very hot even at this time of year, with no air conditioning. Mold, made it difficult to breath. Breakfast ...was so not covid friendly.....we were crowded into a hall in front of coffee nook, and made to wait with 20 other people, mold smell so bad I couldnt stop coughing.. we waited so long we gave up ...and left. Oh ya 8 dollars to park your car out in open. Please people, try anywhere else.....not worth it.

We chose to stay here because it looked like it had a vintage charm. It was just old and cramped. The staff were not friendly, but not rude. There were dogs barking across the hall all night. The bed did not sit evenly on the floor, it wobbled like a terrible diner table. I tried to make contact with the manager and never heard back. I'm very disappointed.

Positive: Towels and sheets were nice Negative: No tub and shower was too tiny to lift my arms. No parking. No pool as advertised. Go to the ymca for that. Closet was too small to put anything in. Plug in bathroom didn¿t work. Had to use plug in bedroom to dry my hair. No counter top at all. Worst e

Our first impressions of the hotel were not amazing, but we left happy! There is no loading zone or even a great place to pull over at the front door to check in and unload. We are on a long trip and have a lot of luggage/baby stuff and needed to empty our car (as the area has a very mixed population and it did not feel like the parking was super secure). There is an elevator, but some of the rooms are accessible only by a number of stairs (about 8). So I brought a very fully loaded luggage cart right past the front desk, into the tiny elevator, and no one thought to mention that the room we’d been assigned wasn’t actually accessible….this was rather infuriating, as if someone had mentioned the stairs to me, I could have mentally prepared for hauling our gear up stairs and down a long hallway by hand. Anyway- like I said- first impression was not good. The room itself was very clean and comfortable, the location of the hotel can’t be beat, with great walking access to a huge park, some strip mall amenities, and the lovely Main Street of Kamloops with tons of great restaurants and shopping. It was also VERY quiet- despite being a fully sold out hotel due to a concert happening nearby. We could hear some noise from rooms while in the hallway, but once in our room we didn’t hear a sound. We slept great, and would be back! And then the breakfast!!! They may not make a great first impression, but our final impression was wonderful! A full hot breakfast with eggs, bacon, sausage, delicious hash browns and fresh berries. They are all packed up to take away and eat in your room and we really were surprised by the taste and quality! Well done.
