Worst hotel ever. I was put in the accessible room as it was the only one available. However the previous guest was a smoker and the room had a terrible odor. I immediately informed the front desk but the answer from the maintenance worker was to spray excessive amounts of air freshener into the bathroom vent. Not helpful. I had asked repeatedly to be moved as the carpet outside the bathroom was damp and sticky, and the odor was unbearable. I was informed that they'd let me know as soon as a room came available....but this did not happen and after a few days when I inquired I was informed that only the manager can move a guest to another room (ummm....that's a new one...), and the manager had not been in. On morning 3 I went to my vehicle in the underground parking to find someone using a needle beside my vehicle. I reported this as well as we had serious security issues in the summertime when there for work....but apparently it's not enough of an issue despite other reviewers talking about their vehicles being broken in to. The final straw was having no hot water at 5am and then finding that other guests had put their garbage in the hallways as everyone was fed up with having zero housekeeping. During our previous business stay we had the staff enter our rooms unauthorized with no explanation from management. Not acceptable. I did request, 3 times, that a manager contact me, including at checkout. Well, that didn't happen and I'm sure it won't.

Stayed for one night passing through to Vancouver. Normally we stay at the Delta but thought we would stay here for the pool. The lady at the desk seem bothered that we were checking in. Found out that the pool was closed when we checked in and had been for a while. Gave us a gift card for the restaurant to make up for the pool to only find out that it had a zero balance on it. The room was so dirty. The light switches, back of the bathroom door, baseboards and tiles were all disgusting. Not to mention the handle for the shower door was coming off. It is a complete embarrassment that tourist to Canada traveling on the Rocky Mountaineer stay here. When we first got there we saw a half eaten meal from the restaurant in the hallway from the night before, When we checked out 14 hours later it was still there. Asked at the front desk about car break ins and the lady said she had never heard of any and that they have a security to patrol. Read the reviews to see how many cars get broken into. When we checked out we showed the lady at the desk the dirty photos from our room and with a blank stare all she could say was sorry as if we were not the only people to complain that day. This hotel needs a deep clean and is in disrepair.

The location couldn’t be worse! This hotel is a few meters away from a rail road where massive trains pass frequently. Our room shaked multiple times during the night. We couldn’t sleep properly. Also be aware that city view is technically a parking view!

Big room with separate seating area. Nice room type in the jacuzzi suite. 6th floor has high ceilings and felt grand and spacious! Jet tub is a little impractical, sprays everywhere, not very suitable for two grown adults. We tried it once individually and never used it again. A lot of the fixtures in the room seemed to lack maintenance, door was loose off hinge, lights on bed loose, etc. Otherwise great views, the train didn't really bother us, the bed was super comfy. For the price I would stay again. Hopefully next time the pool exercise room and breakfast is in service (as other hotels have these running in the area).

We booked at the sandman in Kamloops for 2 nights, no one bothered to check with us the next day to ask if we needed clean towels, coffee was not restocked, the fan in the bathroom was filthy & the light above the shower kept flickering off & on. Considering what we paid each night this was not acceptable. I should not have had to reach out for what should have been a regular routine. They claimed Covid protocols but the staff were masked & it would have been so easy to just ask us if we could leave the room, we were out all day anyway. And they put us on the side where the trains ran most of the night & noisy people above us. We will not be returning any time soon & Kamloops used to be our home town!!!!

Unbeatable location, along with nice clean rooms and a pretty comfy bed. The customer service at the front desk or over the phone is a little poor, usually takes awhile to be helped whether you’re waiting in line or on the phone. If you can find a good rate it’s well worth staying at, however 300$+ for a room is steep.

Good hotel overall. the rooms are quite spacious with a couch area off to the side. I found it quiet enough as well It’s nice having the restaurant options on site, I enjoyed the sports bar. It was a good price, too especially compared to the delta which I stayed at the previous week. Free parking a plus!

My partner and I paid extra to have the executive king suit hoping for a nice stay. We were greatly disappointed. Firstly the bed was most definitely not a king. My partners feet hung off and the sheets on them had a β€œQ” indicating queen. Secondly, the room was absolutely frigid. It’s -15 out and the heat hadn’t been turned on in who knows how long. I don’t know how the room can be marked at available or ready for stay. We cranked the heat at 80 degrees Fahrenheit the entire night and before we left, it got up to a high of a toasty 13.3 degrees Celsius. That’s in the same room the heater is in. The living space was still too cold to tolerate which made us stuck in bed the entire stay and bundled up just to walk around the room. When we brought up our concerns with the front desk, we were simply told I’m sorry. No corrective action. No discount. Nothing. Poor room, poor service, poor staff.
