We are Calgary’s Improv Lab: an improv theatre company based in Calgary, Alberta, Canada since 2006. We are dedicated to sharing the joy of improv by:

Much of the classes were spent playing improv games and having fun, laughing. It felt great growing skills and also watching others classmates develop their talent so quickly. If you’re debating whether or not to join, just do it, it’s one class you won’t regret!!

By far Intro to improv has been the most fun and rewarding. Carol was my instructor, she is a very warm, inviting and funny individual. She is also an excellent communicator and always explains an exercises we performed clearly. The entire atmosphere feels very safe and accepting. If you want to dip your toes and get some acting/improv experience in a creatively open and kind environment, I definitely recommend classes at The Kinkonauts.
D	Darian Khan on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went into this show with an open mind, having seen live improv in Edmonton and Toronto. It was quite amateur, which is understandable. There were a few funny moments, but a lot of it was unfortunately a bit cringe-inducing. At $13 per ticket, it might be better thought of as a small donation to the performing arts scene in Calgary (not a bad thing), but I would search elsewhere for quality entertainment/comedy. They also mentioned that they do corporate gigs (workshops?), but I would have a hard time recommending them for this based on the quality, but also the name (maybe I'm missing the context).
S	Sylvia Debaer on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We attended a "show" on Saturday night. The opening duo were well-prepared, professional and really funny. Loved them! The second act was an ensemble that took the stage for a very Painful 40 minutes. Other than one guy (glasses, mullet haircut) who seemed a little funny, the group was awkward, amateur and remarkably Not funny. The laughter in the room was obviously from their friends and fellow students. There were a few times when a couple of them could have been funny, but a dark-haired girl would insinuate herself onto the stage and destroy the energy. It was like watching the first lesson of an immature improv group, which would have been OK, but we had to pay online for tickets to attend! Would be better as a free show until they get the hang of real Improv.
