I have used the clinic since they opened. Dr parker and dr Ahmed are amazing doctors. My issues has always been with front end staff. Forms not being sent in a Timely fashion or being lost. No voice mail to cancel appointments in a timely matter but when you call of the morning to speak to someone they will charge a fee. I understand charging a fee for regular missed appointments, but when the one off comes up theres obviously a reason.

Have been seeing Dr. Ahmed for a few years now ever since I was referred by a friend. She has been amazing, one of the most caring, thorough and professional doctors I have seen in my lifetime. She takes the time to follow-up and provide reassurance on all concerns that I have had. Her receptionist/assistant (I'm unsure if they are assigned specifically to each doctor but I have never had to deal with the others) has always provided very friendly, pleasant and professional service. Together, they are a great team and always manage to brighten my days up even though I may be feeling under-the-weather or have ailments. I recommend Dr. Ahmed to all of my family and friends and unless I absolutely have to - I have no intentions on seeing a different doctor ever again!

A friend referred me to the Alexandra clinic a few years ago and I'm so glad she did. Dr. Ahmed is incredibly empathetic and willing to take the time to get to know you, ask questions, and treat your concerns with a great deal of care. I've often found that many GPs have very little interest or knowledge about mental health concerns so Dr. Ahmed has been a fantastic advocate in that regard. She's familiar with services available and won't hesitate to make referrals to mental health specialists and discuss appropriate medication options. She's also not quick to default to meds as many GPs are, not knowing any better. The only negative experience I've ever had at the clinic was when I had to visit while Dr. Ahmed was last on mat leave - her locum was very abrupt and rushed - eager to get me in and out without really listening to me or checking my patient history. I had an unrelated question about a medication I was taking and she told me I had to make a separate appointment, which I thought was a bit excessive. I chalked that up to her just not really understanding the values of the clinic and its practitioners. (Though the locum for Dr. Ahmed's first mat leave was fantastic.) I'm not really sure I understand the complaints about reception. The two front desk staffers are efficient and to-the-point. Yes, it often takes quite a while to get through on the phone. (Even more so with COVID.) I think people fail to remember that they're dealing with patients in-person, sending requisitions, cleaning examination rooms, etc. Like any business, the reality is that you often have to prioritize who or what task is in front of you over the phones - especially in a busy clinic like this. (Try calling a store on Boxing Day and see how long it takes you to get through.) For most medical clinics, online booking simply isn't an option, and I believe it would be detrimental to a clinic like this. Part of what makes the receptionists at the Alexandra Clinic so much more efficient than an online booking system is that they get the appropriate info from each patient to be able to ensure you're getting enough time allotted for the best level of care from its practitioners. (Would you want the same amount of time allotted to a pap smear as a prescription refill appointment? Probably not.) This only goes to show that the clinic staff are VERY good at what they do - though I can admit that a voicemail service would be a nice option for patients, especially if you might only have time to call on a lunch break when their office is closed. One warning for potential patients now though: with COVID, they are booking non-urgent appointments a couple weeks out and there is limited availability for walk-ins. The clinic is quite small, so they are being really diligent about keeping everything sanitized and keeping patients appropriately distanced. I was really impressed with how efficient everything was with all the additional changes and protocols in place. It took me a great deal of trial and error to find a doctor that was right for me, and I'm so glad I've been able to find a good fit at the Alexandra Clinic. It's really difficult to find this level of care anywhere else in Calgary.

I had an appointment at 9:30 with Dr provan and I was 10 minutes late and then a walk in patient came sat down for 5 seconds and got to see my doctor before me. The reception is terrible this doctors offices is only good if you only need to see a doctor once every 2 years. This place is absolute garbage and I wished I never made Dr provan my family doctor.

Reception - Very very poor. Poor customer service, not a single smile, never answer their phones, impossible to speak to a human by phone. I have phoned them and been like 16th in their phone cue, only to physically walk in to the clinic and find no one on the phone receptionists just sitting there. Dr. Parker - saw him once for a minor issue, very personable, good bedside manor, seemed knowledgeable. Dr. Proven - saw him a couple of times for minor issues, good bedside manor, nice doctor. Dr. Ahmed - very very poor. knowledge of how to prescribe medications and laboratory tests is poor. Doesn't know which lab forms to use. Prescribed a drug for my wife and ordered a lab test on the same day only to go to the lab and be told Dr. Ahmed had given us the wrong forms, and the drug which she had prescribed shouldn't be taken in 14 days prior to having the test which she ordered. Her incompetence led to 14 days of extra pain and suffering for my family. Will not be seeing her again.

The receptionists could be better, they always seem nonchalant .. there is always a 20 minute wait time to even speak to someone over the phone. Accessibility to speak to your doctor isn’t guaranteed and their hours of operation aren’t ideal. I get that they are busy but is it unreasonable to ask for some personable service?
