About The Canadian Brewhouse (Regina Eastgate)

2002

An Edmonton boys' dream turned reality. Roger Newton purchased an old pool hall in the west end of Edmonton, with a clear vision of what was missing from the city of champions. There were Irish Bars, English Pubs, and even Belgian Cafes, but there was nothing that truly honoured the rich heritage of Canada. Combine that with his love of Sports, Roger opened the first ever Canadiana Sports Bar in West Edmonton, The Canadian Brewhouse. This location has since closed, but it was the start of a service industry giant.

My girlfriend and I made reservations 3 days in advance on account for basketball and hockey playoffs. When we arrived, they told us they were at max capacity and had already given our table away. Their manager didn’t even come to speak or explain themselves and had the host send us away. Very in impressed.

Alex has the most upbeat and personable attitude of any server I’ve had in recent memory! It was definitely a treat every time she came to check in on us! Service was prompt and always accurate to top it all off

Went there last expressly to watch the Flames game. I asked to be seated so I could see the game. The bar staff was excellent, the food was great, I was a great night until the General Manager decided that he should change the channels on the TVs, I asked him to put the Flames game back on, and he did, I missed about 5 mins of the game. Then we went through the same exercise twice more as he kept changing the channel to other events and changing it back when I complained. Frankly I got the message and left. The only reason I went out was to watch the game and I couldn’t enjoy it. I am at a lose to understand the situation but to say the least I won’t be going back. The food was good and the staff were excellent, but the situation was not enjoyable.

We've been long time customers and have gone to numerous steak nights lobster ? nights and enjoyed them extremely but Saturday night we went to the 30oz Tomahawk steak dinner the steak was delicious but I got 3 sprigs of broccoli ? and not even a serving spoon of over cooked dry macaroni and cheese no cheese sauce on my broccoli. For upping the charges to $60 + $7 dollars tax almost $70 dollars it's ridiculous no quality or quantity I will not be going anymore it's not worth it you have gone Downhill since reopening from the covid bring customers in don't push them away with high cost small portions and the bar staff is so unfriendly. So Sad

Food & beer tasted great. But I asked 4 times for just 1 TV in my view to have channel changed so I could see the game I wanted (and everyone else at my table could see). Our table conversation was mostly about the game I could NOT see. Do better ! Waitress told me 3x that bartender would do it. NEVER happened. This has happened before. Time to spend time and money elsewhere.

So impressed!! In early December my mom and I tried The Great Canadian Brewhouse for the first time...the food was phenomenal (absolutely best fish and chips in town!) but the service was lacking a little bit. The general manager Ken reached out to me directly and offered to make things right - and he truly did just that, even setting us up for an complimentary meal on his day off! Thanks, Ken! The service tonight was ace! Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and so sweet she tried to insist we not leave a tip. The assistant manager checked on us to make sure everything was going good which we also appreciated. My mom had the fish and chips again and I tried the Canadian burger with a brisket poutine...??! Thanks for the fantastic experience - you and your staff went above and beyond and made our evening! Thanks Ken and Team! I'll be back soon with my boyfriend who is always hungry for a tasty meal (he's 6' 5", 320lbs ?)!

Normally we like The Canadian Brewhouse, but tonight we placed a pickup order through Skip the Dishes and was really disappointed. We paid $30 for a gluten-free Prime Minister pizza that didn't have any pepperoni on it, no mushrooms and no tomatoes (as requested/paid for), plus hardly any of the other add ons. It was like eating flat bread with cheese on it with a few toppings. I called the location and complained. They said they would send me a voucher/email for a free meal to make up for it, but I will see it when I believe it. To date, I still haven't received a voucher or email from Canadian Brewhouse.
