We have mixed feelings about Star Kids Clinic, as the doctors have been so very kind over the years (coming over from Markham Pediatric Clinic) and the clinic has been really accommodating *when* you've been lucky enough to get a hold of them. There have been a few occasions this fall where we've needed to bring our child in to visit the office. It was tougher to get a hold of someone, where at times, and at multiple times, we were also on hold for 30+ minutes. This hasn't been uncommon. When we were able to make it into the office, they have been able to accommodate us. There is a wait time - but when isn't that the case for a doctor's appointment? We still really miss the Markham Pediatric location, office, and other staff. The additional staff really made the office what it was. I hope that over time, this location will continue to make the efforts to make the office more warm and welcoming and also continue to work on their communications with their patients. We love our daughter's pediatrician and hope that all of the kinks that need to be worked through will be resolved soon. Best of luck, as we can also only imagine how much tougher it is to deal with during the COVID-19 pandemic!

Even with the long wait, which I understand, I'm giving this clinic 5 stars. My son's pediatrician, Dr. Watts, is very sweet, compassionate, and gentle. She answers all of my questions and gives advice without any judgment. The clinic is clean and the staff is warm and welcoming. I usually book my appointments online and so far, it hasn't failed us.

I cannot say enough good things about this clinic!! Dr. Sriskanda is my son's pediatrician and is one of my most favourite doctors I've encountered in my life. She NEVER rushes me, she entertains my enormous list of questions and never makes me feel foolish, she is open-minded and collaborative, and she makes fabulous recommendations that have always bettered our lives. I was concerned about a symptom my son was displaying and, though Dr. Sriskanda wasn't terribly worried, she ordered bloodwork. Her team called me first thing the very next morning to let me know his results were normal and they did this so I could "enjoy [my] day with [my] son". I find it quite rare these days to experience a doctor of Dr. Sriskanda's caliber and we are so lucky to have found her. Her staff is also wonderful and do their very best to always accommodate us. I can see it causes them distress not to be able to fit a patient into their obviously very booked schedule. I've also seen first-hand the level of abuse this team sustains from very aggressive parents - it's horrible. They deserve thanks and respect, not the awful treatment I've seen. I tip my hat to this wonderful team! Thank you all so much for what you do!

Wow......."the response from the owner" to my original post shows just how inept this office is. 1. The reminder emails/voice msgs ARE NOT CLEAR. They say " Your upcoming Call in Appt OR In person appt is scheduled......" They confirm the date and time but NOT the type of Appt scheduled.... In mentioning both types of Appts you are causing miscommunication. Thinking you have 1 type of appt, when in fact you may not. Clearly what happened with my daughter. 2. This appt for my daughter was NOT a medication renewal. It was a Doctor Med Check-in. A talk with the doctor to see how the medication is going etc. Requested by the doctor. Something we have been doing for over 10 yrs at the Markham Pediatric Clinic, with no issues. I hope in the 7 months since this review, they have hired new front desk staff that actually know how to handle medical issues and not cause more medical issues. ORIGINAL POST BELOW.... My issue is with the front staff...our doctor is the only reason we are here. I had been with Markham Pediatrics for 25 yrs, and sadly got moved to this clinic as our Doctor switched. My child requires daily meds that need occasional check in's with the Dr. From day 1, last September, talking to the "receptionist" to get an appt was so horrible and painful....I knew then we were in trouble. The receptionist, asked me to spell my last name, which I did SEVERAL times and she kept calling me someone else. Even when we showed up for our appt, it was under the wrong name. Months later a "med check in" was so messed up...a phone call was suppose to happen....but was not recorded as that. Yesterday, was the last straw. My child who is now 18 and trying to be responsible had gone online in February and booked what she thought was another phone call "med check in". She waited 2 weeks for the appointment, running out of meds but knew she had an appointment coming up. 45 minutes after her scheduled time she called the office to ask when the Dr. would be calling because she had an online class coming up, and was very rudely told that she had booked an "in person" appt. and missed it and there was nothing that could be done, my child argued that she did make a "call in appt" and needed meds. Then was told to call back and make another appointment. Nothing else could be done. The receptionist took her anger of a missed appt. out on my child. I then get a call from my child, in full anxiety breakdown. I immediately called the clinic and asked to speak with the Office Manager/Director. The receptionist told me " it was her," which I knew was not the case. I preceded to tell her what had just happened to my child and how she was treated and what the result of that call did to her, and she urgently needed the med renewal she has waited 2 weeks for, and my child's mental health was severely compromised by what she did. She proceeded to tell me it was not her, my daughter spoke with and she "had just picked up my call". The whole time I was speaking...she kept saying...."ahaa"....like she was not even listening to anything I was saying. In the end she took my daughter's phone number and said she would call her back. Which she did...and as I suspected...the receptionist lied to me...my daughter confirmed that that was the same lady that was so rude to her earlier. The online system for booking is flawed and not clear enough asking if you want an "in person" or "call back" appt. No person working in a medical office, should ever put a patient's mental health in jeopardy like she did. If I had a choice, I would stay far, far away from this clinic and their front staff.

Today was my first visit to the new clinic and altought there was a bit of a confusion with the front desk at first, they resolved the issue and we were able to see the doctor. Dr Watts exceeded my expectations, she answered all my questions and was great with my girls, she made our visit very pleasant. The front desk staff has improved alot compared to the old location, they pick up the phone and actually have a conversation with you . I'm overall happy with the changes. Thank you!

Disagree all you want but the reviews are true. The front staff is very difficult to deal with, confrontational at most situations. We always have to wait an hour or more to see the doctor even with an appointment scheduled weeks in advance. Our appointment was at 11AM and the clinic opened at 9AM… Not sure why we have to wait more than an hour with an infant now well past her nap time. How can you be more than an hour behind schedule? This is due to lack of time management and carelessness from the medical staff. And of course someone will reply to my review with an excuse. But guess what, when there are so many negative reviews maybe, just maybe there is a problem that needs to be addressed.

Dr. Kay is my children’s pedia and she’s a competent and an amazing doctor. For a mom like me who really asks a lot of questions and gets anxious easliy, she would listen to me and patiently explains everything. She’s very kind towards my children and she’s the type of doctor where you are comfortable to asks and not being judged. My husband and I are grateful towards her for the care and understanding she would give whether is is phone consult or in person.
