This location was a great place to get eggs and milk as a student without a car. No need to cross the highway for those living on the south side of junot. Was a great place to grab essentials. To bad the area around Junot isint as well kept, but this location sure does help the community have access to items close by.

The worst pharmacy customer service ever!!!!! I was just lied to by the pharmacy staff. I called in prescription refill, I was informed that my medication is backordered. I then asked if they could call the other Shoppers in the area over the weekend to check stock. On Monday I received a phone call stating that there is no other Shoppers that has my medication Iin stock. I decided to call the first closest Shoppers just to double-check......... To my surprise my medication was in stock. I cannot believe I was just lied to.........at this point I was so angry I decided to pull all my prescriptions out of this Shoppers location. I later received a phone call asking me why I transferred all my prescriptions? I communicated to them what has just transpired. The person's attitude was basically "don't worry" ??? This is not the first time I had a problem with this pharmacy. Another instance there was a discrepancy with a prescription refill request. I was informed that their automated refill system sent out the refill request a 2nd time after I was informed by my doctor's office that are refill request was never received. If they know they have issues with their automated refill request system, why is it that they not double-check that the doctor's office receives the request? Not only did i basically had to double-check that someone did their job, but this current situation I was lied too as well.

They are just too disorganized. I order my scripts well ahead of time or the day before and they can never find them when I arrive. 15 to 20 minutes each time. Minimum

Be prepared to be treated like a drug addict until these pharmacists, including the owner Maggie, feel satisfied otherwise. Question, if I was filling diet pills or anti-biotics, would I still have been treated like a criminal here? Or would it have all been fine and dandy? Apparently Maggie feels that paper prescriptions are less valid. Be prepared to have the power of foresight to know exactly where you're going to be a week from now and plan ahead to have a doctor fax it to wherever that's going to be. Just hope that you don't end up at this Shoppers.

I suffer from an acute illness that is highly unpredictable and impacts my function significantly when it is in cycle. The medication, can be tricky to find in stock at a pharmacy, and so I am accustomed to getting a few doses and waiting for an order. The pharmacy had two doses on hand of the medication. After being informed that they would try to do the fill within the hour, but they were busy with immunization, it could be longer. I asked if they will call or if they would like my email address so the system will automatically notify me when it’s ready. Answer: no time. Call us to see if it’s ready. Important to me was that the additional doses be ordered as two doses would last two days. Yes, the additional doses will be in by the end of the week. I was to call back Thursday or Friday to see. Ok, I can get by two days and hopefully they come in Thursday. I show up and clearly one of the staff seemed displeased I hadn’t called, but luckily the Pharmacist was reviewing the fills prior to approving them so I did receive my medication (2 doses) and confirmed I’d call Thursday or Friday for the additional 8 doses. So today is Thursday and I call. I was talking to a polite young lady who was trying to locate the order for the doses, but could see no request for the additional doses and that my prescription for 2 doses had be completed. At that point, the lady that handled me with frustration previously, took the phone from this other staff member and indicated there was no order and if she did place an order it wouldn’t arrive until next week. I expressed that I need those medications to function, and no empathy or desire to help was expressed. Ultimately, I suggested that β€œSo my only option is to call other pharmacies in town and see who has doses and have you transfer my information to them?”. Her response β€œYes.” So I did that, and thankfully after trying all of the Shoppers (they had none except the Memorial location and were happy to try and help) the Dawson Street Safeway had four doses (enough to get through the August long weekend) and were happy to place the order for the additional doses and that they would be in by Tuesday. As a former Chair of a Health Professions Advisory Board for a Ministry of Health, this situation was disturbing. To leave a patient in a state where they require medication to function and are at risk of not having that medication because the pharmacy is β€œbusy” and that an order was never placed despite committing to doing so and leaving the patient not pursuing other avenues for treatment on that commitment, is traumatic. The pharmacy should have owned the error, and phone the other Shoppers and pharmacies in Thunder Bay to acquire as much of the medication as possible. To leave me with such great uncertainty over my function, to then have me call the pharmacies around town to locate doses out of desperation, and then to treat me with such indifference, is abhorrent. I can’t imagine what others might feel when their life depends on these medications, whereas I simply have an acute debilitating nerve inflammation. It left me shaking on the side of the road fearing that the acute pain I will experience in the night will have no medication available to address it because someone forgot to put an order for the medication in. It was further not helpful that stress is a trigger for the acute pain in a cycle and I was doing my best to keep mentally calm during the day to avoid triggering an attack. So in the end, Safeway called Shoppers and had my file transferred over. And they send over the wrong information telling Safeway I only had three doses left on the prescription. Which I said was wrong and Safeway acquired the original prescription from Shoppers which showed the correct doses and refills. I normally don’t write reviews, but this type of behaviour is dangerous. Upon seeing the piles of pill bags, it is clear they are over capacity. This introduces risk of error. I would avoid or verify medications after pickup to ensure correctness.

Wish I had read the reviews before coming here. Won't be getting my prescription refilled here. Lost my faxed prescription, then took 7 days to fill the prescription. I am on medication I have to take daily, and I have been off it for 7 days due to them not filling my prescription. No empathy, told me to come back the next day after I had called the day prior and two days before that and kept getting told to come back the next day. I showed up to get my prescription which they told me yesterday was going to be ready for today. And no was told when I got there to come back tomorrow, I made a huge scene because this is unacceptable. I have been out of my medication because of this pharmacy and not filling my prescription on time.

NEVER see such poor service in my life from any STORE, day 3 and still waiting for my wife's prescription's after being released from hospital and this is the second time. Also charging a dispensing fee on asprin which you can get off the shelf and adding to cost when paying out of pocket. I can keeping going but gonna spend my time now and transfer too a drug store that cares about giving great service and not adding extra cost and receiving meds in timely manner especially after having heart surgery. My rating for them is 0 stars at this location.
