No keys, no one to meet to open the door, no access to apartment. This is not a hotel, it's a private residence condo building; with a big sign in the front lobby saying "no short term rentals"

Great spot, I love my new residence so much, I’m also glad the government pays for it. Thanks

For those looking to rent or buy in this area I would advise against looking at 234 Rideau street for the following reasons: 1) They have an extremely poorly designed parking lot and unreasonable move in requirements. - You are expected to park your moving truck in the loading dock, but are not allowed to use the lift in the loading dock nor the elevator closest to the loading dock, - Instead, you are told by the building staff to manually walk your furniture to the P1 Parking elevator (which is a considerable length to walk with a bed, sofa, dining table etc.) - If you do not have an additional pickup truck to drive down to P1/ only rented a moving truck/U-haul, you're out of luck because there are height limitations and you cannot drive your furniture down to the P1 parking elevator. - Once you reach the P1 Parking elevator, you'll need to bring all your furniture through a very narrow single door to access the elevator area. Our sofa did not fit through the door and the front desk told us to call Claridge because there was nothing they could do to help us. 2) When I left a message with the building representatives at Claridge to clarify the moving protocol and see if anything could be done as we had furniture that did not fit through the door leading to the P1 elevator area, we received no call back. It has been two weeks and there has been no word or attempt to reach out by Claridge. 3) They do not have a modern HVAC system. Every 6 months there's a "seasonal switch" between AC or heating, so after the switch you won't have access to one of the two. It's September in Ottawa, which means temperatures can be varied and you'll either be too cold or too warm due to the building deciding to switch. TL;DR: 1) If you are someone who does not have an extra pickup truck to help you move, then I hope you hired movers or your moving experience will be terrible. 2) If you ever want to reach the building management at Claridge, good luck with that because it has been two weeks and I still have not heard back. 3) The building is responsible for turning on heating for the entire building. It's already fall and they haven't turned on the heating so my partner and I are working from home in our coats. After heating is turned on, you won't have access to AC and vice versa.
