O5 Tea + Kombucha

One of the best tea shops I’ve ever visited. Well-curated selection of unique and high quality teas, owners work directly with tea farmers, not distributors. Loved the tea flights, matcha flights, and kombucha (hojicha and The Dream made with lavender and peppermint were my favorites). Excellent service. Great place to hang out and try different kinds of teas. I’ll be back again!

Just went there on a Sunday, and it was an interesting experience with tea. As tea lovers (but beginners), my girlfriend and I are looking for some tea houses. This one happened to be close to my house. It's not big at all, and the atmosphere was very quiet, so I could chat in a peaceful setting. The price of most of the loose leaf tea were very affordable, and had many options. The thing I loved the most about this place is the friendliness and the knowledge the tea bartenders have about the teas. We would ask for recommendations and they would go on and on about what's good and what's not good. It was not just about drinking tea but also learning about tea!

I've been here once and I fell in love with it. The tea selection is great and the tea bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly. If you are new to tea I would recommend going with the flights so you can explore the selection. The interface on the tablets is user-friendly and easy to navigate. They also have a good selection of kombucha which you can try and buy cups/growlers.

Very rude not welcoming. We came for take out only. Instead of hi how are you doing... they asked us if we had a mask and asked us for vaccine proof which is no longer required by health Canada. When asked why the man said their clients are immune suppresed but the store is empty and on guy is sitting without a mask. It doesn't make sense! Why not propose us to sit isn't that allowed? I will boycott them for being rude and not finding a way around for me. No Vaccine no tea! Sounds like the past and it seams they have shot themselves in the foot because the store is empty and the one immune suppressed customer should stay home.

Delicious kombucha, high quality tea, and incredible staff! We went for their Dream and Hojicha kombuchas which were cool and refreshing. They have an incredible selection of Pu'er teas as well and we came away with a smooth and aromatic Sheng variety and a wealth of knowledge to enjoy it to its fullest potential! I would highly recommend to tea newbies and connoisseurs alike!

Excellent fresh kombucha bar. Salesman was extremely accommodating and allowed a taste of several before we settled on the white peony. Wonderful selection of loose teas and plenty of knowledge from the staff. 2nd comment a month later … I purchased the Earl Grey tea with bergamot oil (see photo below) and it is superb! Also at $15 for 100g it is a great value!

Great selection of teas here and usually a friendly and knowledgeable staff. A few times I’ve gone (and lingered, hoping for service), I’ve felt seriously ignored in favour of whoever was at the bar. Last time it was a group of cute girls, and although my partner and I waited 15 minutes for service, we couldn’t get the sales guys to drag themselves away, so we left without making any purchases. Will definitely keep trying because this place is a gem.

O5 is like a mecca for tea lovers! I have been here before, and had a great experience, and was anticipating a re-visit. There's only a long bar with seating, and thankfully, they graciously let us sit there, while making multiple steeps. The customer service was great and warm- they calmly and patiently explained the different types of tea, as well as the history of the store, which was educational and interactive. Their passion and wealth of knowledge added to an enriching experience overall. Also, the interior was just so cosy and warm - the black wood, warm-toned woods and uniquely shaped lamps heightened the overall experience. On a rainy Saturday, it felt like a cosy hideaway and nook from the hustle and bustle of city life. Customers enjoyed a tranquil and relaxing time either sipping teas or watching the tea makers work their magic and share their extensive knowledge of teas. I'm super interested to come back to try different varieties of tea and kombuchas. We only tried 2 of the several varieties of excellent tea that was expertly brewed by a knowledgeable and friendly tea master. Specifically, we tried the matcha tea, which had a distinct earthy and grassy flavour, with bitter undertones. Also, we tried the time traveller tea, of which the leaves unfurled in the kettle i believe, which they graciously re-steeped various times so as not to waste the flavour - and the flavour was bold and on point - similar to oolong/black tea/fruity. On the website, its tasting notes are stated to be dried apricots, candied crabapples and maple wood. Definitely sip and savor it to enjoy its beautiful and vibrant color. Definitely a bougie experience to be remembered. Thank you O5 for cultivating and elevating the enjoyment of tea to an art form and experience to be savoured. Will be back to learn about and sample more teas, in the interest of health as well. If you even remotely like tea, definitely make a trip here. There are tea packets packaged in various quantities with prices clearly marked, so you can take away tea as gifts for fellow connoisseurs and lovers. As well, there are some lovingly crafted ceramics. It's located on a street filled with lots of other shops and eateries, so you can take a stroll in the vicinity after filling up on tea!
