About Medicentres Family Care Clinics
Over three decades ago, two Edmonton physicians had the vision to bring accessible health care to Albertans on a non-appointment, extended hour basis. Making that vision a reality, in 1979 they established Medicentres, which is now the largest group of medical clinics in Western Canada.
Medicentres continues to grow and evolve. We now have 30 walk-in clinics in 8 Canadian cities with over 300 employees including nurses, receptionists and associated health care personnel and almost 200 practicing physicians. Many of our walk-in clinics now include a variety of specialists who work in consult with our family physicians.
Our physicians care for patients in a traditional family practice through scheduled appointments, and on a walk in basis while also providing episodic care through our Fastrack Program. Designed to deal with minor injuries and medical issues, prescription refills and immunizations, the Fastrack Program provides you with the next available appointment.
Employers will find assistance for their workers through Occupational Injury Services, pre-employment physicals and drivers’ exams. We also provide Immigration physicals and a host of other uninsured services.
Each year, thousands of patients visit our clinics, and have come to depend on Medicentres to deliver quality health care for everyone.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I came in here with a possible broken bone and wasn’t seen for over 2 hours… when we went to ask when we would be seen we were told the doctor was behind schedule. Hours behind schedule??? This is dumb never going here ever again

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I do not recommend getting your travel Covid Test here. I was quite certain I was positive, close contact, symptoms, positive rapid test, but needed to prove it for an upcoming trip. The individual that did the test did not go into my nasal cavity and used a puffy swab which is not the best available option. My test came back negative for covid. I phoned to question this and was, of course, given the "pcr tests are the gold standard" line. I went for another test, results indicated POSITIVE, as my trip was in jeopardy and my results did not make sense given everything else. My second test came back positive. $168 for a poorly administered PCR test that could have forced me to either cancel my trip or render me stuck in another country as I could not prove my Covid timeline to travel. Get your PCR test elsewhere, this location is not reliable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have gone to this clinic several times over the years. They are consistently professional and compassionate. The staff at the front desk acknowledge you if you have to wait a bit and the are kind and polite when it is your turn. The doctors do not rush and are very helpful. If I need medical assistance urgently, this is my ‘go to’ spot.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Do not go here for a Covid test. Waited hours even with an appointment. Sitting in a waiting room of sick people when you need a test for travel purposes is not ideal. Not sure why Covid tests are even an option here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staff was incredibly rude and the doctor I saw was extremely condescending and brushes off any concerns you have. I would not come here again as the doctor and front desk staff was rude and extremely disorganized. This was the first time I’ve experienced a doctor laugh in my face for not knowing the answer to something. I felt mocked and looked down on. I strongly suggest you go somewhere else if you are looking to see a doctor.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Closes at 5, used to be open later and was good for walk-ins. Apparently they don't care about people who work Monday - Friday who might need help after they are done work. And if you are closed maybe lock the door so people can't get in.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bad experience going for a covid swab test. go to a pharmacy instead if you can.
Lousy efficiency. They ignore you when you go to the counter. They have a queue number system where you take a queue number and wait. But they will serve whoever stands in line and not go according to the queue number. Ie I have a 97 queue number, sat down, another person walks in and took 98 queue number n stood there waiting. 98 was served first with no acknowledgement of me. And I have booked an appointment (I was there on time), #98 was a walk in. Why implement a queue number system if you don’t use it? What is the point of booking an appointment if you are treated like other walk in patients? In the end I had to queue up behind 2 others and only got seen by the nurse 40min after my stated appt time, after the others were seen.
I have to wait 15min to receive my results in person, although the website says it can be emailed. I asked the nurse if they can email me they said no, I can take a picture of the hard copy if I want.
All in all, I spent 1h in the clinic for a 20seconds procedure done by a nurse.
Wanted to give 0 stars for efficiency. The 2stars is because despite the long wait, once it is your turn the procedure was quick.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen, I would like to make a really bad complaint about doctor Michael Tretiakov, I brought my father this morning he came from Ontario and he just had a first appointment with a family physician in Alberta today so we had to wait for one hour and a 1/2 before the physician came into the room so the physician didn't even want to spend any time and whenever my father wanted to ask for X rays for 2 shoulders he got really bad pain so the physician said next time so my father said what he mean next time. Can you imagine guys. Do not attend this doctor at all cause you're gonna be wasting your time and then if you need to make a requisition or anything else you have to battle every single time this is not worth it not your nerves not your time nothing. Thank you and have a great day everyone.
