★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have had pretty good service at this place. Quick to order items in for you and most importantly, they will price match. Now, price matching is one thing but price matching Amazon is another. I bought the Vanguard Alta pro 2 163AB 100 tripod from here and they took $100.00 off to price match a seller on Amazon. So I'll always just go to them instead of using Amazon because you can actually test and see the product before purchase. They are pretty knowledgable as far as I can tell and a pleasure to talk to for pointers and other topics related to photography.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So I didn't rate this location for a full week because I was unsure about my real feelings regarding my experience here. The reality was that it wasn't great.
My assistant and I were shooting in Sherwood Park of all places add a small part broke. We had half an hour to find a replacement piece that should have cost $4 at the main store. When we arrived at this location, the employees had no idea what we were talking and we're totally aloof. They didn't know how to help us whatsoever. One of the staff presented us with the same piece twice as a solution after everyone in the store had agreed it wouldn't help.
"This won't help because, etc."
"Okay, I understand."
"Great!"
"Uh, it's been three minutes, will this part that I admitted has no relevance to your problem help noooowwwww?"
No. It did not.
The reason the location gets a 2 out of 5 instead of a 1 is because the person who wasn't helping us seemed to more knowledgeable than the person who tried to help. I'm trusting that the person who didn't help us but was standing behind the counter knew more than the person who was actually helping us.
Yeah, that's confusing, but if I was London Drugs going into 2020, I would be concerned.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have had the privilege of shopping here on two separate occasions. I find the customer service to be exceptional. Patricia helped me with the decision on a new lens. She was knowledgeable and efficient! She took the time to answer all my questions. I drive from Spruce Grove to this store for all my big purchase. I would highly recommend shopping here! Amazing staff!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went there to look at some telephoto lens and possibly a new DSLR camera. I had exceptional service by the sales staff. She provided all the info I needed without any sales pressure. The store currently admits at most two customers and all staff is masked, so it felt reasonably secure.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Photo finishing is 1st class. I have tried several on-line services with either poor results, or inconsistent quality. While on-line (Costco, Walmart, etc) are cheaper, the old saying you get what you pay for certainly applies here. McBain, you have my business going forward.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This summer my dad gifted me the Nikon FE 35mm camera he purchased back in the late 1970's. Growing up I always remember him taking pictures using this camera and when he passed it on to me, it instantly became a treasured possession. Also, I began using it and fell in love with it just as he did all those years before. Then, after using it for a couple months, I jammed the film advance mechanism, and needless to say, I was devastated! I then stopped in to speak with the excellent staff at McBain, inquiring about a repair. They sent my Nikon in and two weeks later I was given the repair estimate, which was reasonable. Then a month later, my camera arrived back, and it was 100% worth the wait! When I used it, post repair, I was so thrilled with the smooth action of the mechanisms, not to mention the shiny brand new look of my Nikon, that I knew I had to share what a wonderful job the team at McBain did to help restore my beloved camera back into excellent condition. Thank you to Mr. Douglas Banks and the entire team at McBain Sherwood Park for the excellent work you do, and the warm welcome we receive each time we visit your store! Sincerely, Dean
