WHAT TO TRY?!? Of course the abalone! I haven’t been here for lunch, but I heard the dim sum here are decent too. The shark fin soup is also very delicious as it’s heated up at your table! Their seafood options are great here too. Depending on the season, you can get the Alaskan king crab, big lobsters or jumbo live shrimp. All very good! The abalone usually comes with duck feet so if you’re not a fan of duck feet, let them know to substitute it with something else. I had the quail too. It was alright. I didn’t think it was crispy enough and didn’t have much flavor. Make sure you dip it in the worcheshire sauce and the mixed salts for a better taste. The jumbo shrimp was fresh and very juicy. This is a seasonal seafood so ask if they have it available. There was lots of meat in each of the shrimp. Usually boiled and you’ll need to dip into their soy sauce in order to enjoy this dish. LAST TIP?! They only take cash or debit so make sure you come prepared! I suggest you take a look at the combo dinners to see if anything excites you. Always ask what kind of seasonal seafood they have in store and whether they have any specials going on.

Love this restaurant. Been here many times for dim sum, dinner, and most recently a banquet dinner. Service is great. The dishes for the head table were adorned with sculpted vegetables that looked like a dragon, phoenix, boats, bridge, tower, and more! So gorgeous!! Food is tasty too. Only downside is the parking can be difficult to find. Small lot with a lot of other restaurants in the same plaza.

Instagram: @tiff.eatz Been coming here for years and the food has always been consistent! Really enjoy coming for dim sum but I prefer coming for dinner! Their dinner menu has a lot of variety & some tasty fusion dishes (that you can request if you’d like). Portions are great and food is traditional chinese cuisine! Sweet & Sour Pork , Salted Fish Fried Rice, Maggi Shrimp w glass noodles (my personal fave!! Highly recommend)

Food is tasty. We ordered a lamb stew pot for take out. We added some spam and other fixings to the lamb pot. A bit dated inside. They seem to focus on wedding and other banquets. Strong disinfect cleaning agent smell when we walked in, probably just done cleaning. They do check COVID vaccine passport for each and every customer.

One of the finest Chinese restaurants in all of Toronto just happens to be a 15 minute drive north to Richmond Hill. Superb food, brilliant cheerful decor, fast attentive service, friendly staff. Dim sum, Peking Duck and oysters in XO sauce my favorites. Perfect place for family celebrations! Highest recommendation! ?

Golden Court is an ageless wonder in the Richmond Hill restaurant scene. It's been around for two decades as a pillar along Hwy 7. We often take its presence for granted, opting for newer places to dine among the plethora of options. But what does it take to be a local staple? I guess it's top-notch dim sum, along with dinner & banquet meals. For dinner, our Diced Beef with Honey and Chilli Pepper was akin to well-done steak with some chew to draw out the sweet sauce & meat juice. Plenty of broccoli & cashews accompanied the dish. Stir Fried Grouper Brisket was served in a sizzling claypot with mushrooms. I enjoyed the crispy coating & teriyaki flavour but cuts were too bony w/o much fillet. Stir Fried Shrimps with cashew nuts was a lighter dish with heaping portions of fresh veggies for good contrast. We had a bit of trouble scouring the menu for something that tickled our fancy. Dinner dishes didn't blow us away, but the attentive service was pleasant with frequent plate changes. I think they could do a better job of advertising their seasonal seafood variety. Sparse tables were seated with regulars who knew the staff. Dish plates were huge, so we were stuffed after the taro sago, mango jelly, and almond cookies offered for dessert. All in all, a mixed review after setting foot at the Golden Court again. Its entrance is anchored by stone lions & a fancy interior door for a grand impression, while the decor is reminiscent of classic Cantonese restaurants that serve as banquet halls. Such details perhaps we overlooked while competing for dim sum in the packed house on past visits!
