What a frustrating experience , waited 4 months to talk to someone who is not the surgeon and didn't care about my meds or history only to find out I have another approximately another 6 to 10 months of consistent pain to hopefully talk to a surgeon then possibly get a date for surgery.Total waste of time and tax dollars!! almost 6 months later still no appointment with surgeon it is now a year since my family doctor sent a referral.

My mom was on the list for a hip replacement and while the wait for it was long (which is the fault of the Alberta Government, not the clinic), the clinic runs like a very well oiled machine. They really try to do everything so that you don't have to worry about anything like calling for appointments. And the case managers are great at helping, and they get back to you pretty quickly. Just recently my mom was discharged from her replacement and we had a requisition for bloodwork. We went to get it done and the on call doctor at the hospital didn't actually check anything off on the requisition. We were able to call the H&K Clinic and we were directed to two different people, I believe, but it was quick, they talked to the techs at the Dynalife, and we were able to get everything done within about 20 minutes. We're very impressed by the clinic and the dedication to patient care, and we're also eternally grateful.

I have been dealing with this clinic for 2 years now. I injured my ankle in May 2018. I didn't get an appointment with this clinic until September 2019. I was sent for an MRI in February 2020. I was to have a follow up appointment April 2020 but that was cancelled due to Covid-19. A telephone appointment was set up for September 14th, 2020 - a call was never received. I am no further ahead with resolving this injury since I initially injured my ankle in May of 2018. I am not at all pleased with how they function. I did not want to even give them 1 star but unfortunately I had to.

Saw them couple of years ago, a referral for a torn rotator cuff. They decided to play God and not authorize surgery, instead sent me to physio. I had already completed physio two times, yet they said the physio therapists where I went were incompetent. They have me their own list to choose from. I decided to wait and deal with it. I decided a couple of months ago to start physio, but had misplaced their list. I have called three times now. No one answers a phone, so I left a VMS. I have yet to receive a call back. All I want is a new list of their preferred therapists! Too much to ask for?

They are always so nice here. Everyone is treated with respect. During covid times when everything is challenging they make you feel calm. My nurse is Jocelyn and when she phoned me for an interview at 4:30 I was surprised she was still working as she was also at my 7:30am teaching class. The admin staff at the front are so efficient and professional and kind. Today I saw the anesthesiologist. You know how they always say do you have any questions - and you don’t remember them until you get home? Well he must have those questions down pat as he answered most of them before I had them. He was both kind and calm as well. You finish your visit feeling confident on the procedure and that you are the important part of the process.

The Dr. and front end staff themselves were very professional, well spoken and kind. However, I did NOT enjoy the initial interview process at all. There is nothing worse than when you meet with someone and all they do is talk AT you...They do NOT listen to what you are telling them. This is what I endured when I recently had my assessment with EBJC.

Firstly, exceptionally long wait time to be evaluated by a GP, who may then refer you to a surgeon for a surgical consult. This is normal for the industry but exceedingly wasteful… like hiring a layperson to tell you you need a plumber. Scheduling receptionist hanged up on me as soon as I stated I was already scheduled for surgery elsewhere. Skinny on this place: they are, by far, the longest facility to get an initial evaluation (by a GP). Scheduling receptionist is outright ignorant and rude. Plenty of better, more timely facilities out there… they all use the same surgeons so do yourself a favour and request a consult with multiple facilities. Due to extreme wait times and rude staff this place gets a zero!
