I’ve been here for a few years for the sole reason that this is the only place that does 8 month leases in the area. If you have an issue while staying here, tough luck, cause they won’t care. You used to have to fight the front desk staff just to get your mail although admittedly that is getting better. One of the cleaning ladies comes into your room a whopping 2 seconds after knocking and redefines β€œhousekeeping” as not cleaning and leaving after 3 minutes. The first floor has bug issues which include spiders and other bugs I’ve never even seen before.. sometimes one or two makes it to the second floor. The internet is spotty at best and has connectivity issues quite regularly (every day you get cut off a couple times) so if you do end up coming here bring your own router.. although even the Ethernet has connectivity issues sometimes so even that won’t help. On top of that you will never go to the kitchen because there’s only one, and it’s at one end of the whole building and on the fourth floor. All in all I highly recommend you look elsewhere. I know it sucks, but a 12-month lease from foundry across the street is probably your best bet. They send a 5-man cleaning crew to your house every two weeks and clean it top to bottom, and you get a full kitchen and bathroom to yourself. To top it all off, since it’s a student residence any β€œrent” you pay here is NOT tax-free redeemable, AND you are not covered under the Residential Tenancies Law if you have any issues. (Foundry is tax-free redeemable).

Experience at this residence was very awful and inconvenient. The staff just sit around in the lobby chatting, and giving dirty glares to the residents who live here. You would think they would comprehend that the residence is full of young college/Uni students that are trying to have a good time so maybe get the stick out of your a**, but no they are miserable & unprofessional staff workers. When it comes to having visitors over, they pick and choose who they want to inconvenience and make them sign in. They even have a rule where you can’t be going in and out with your guest/visitor, so good luck on grabbing a bite to eat and coming back without the disrespectful staff bothering you about it. MEANWHILE, random groups of people who don’t even live at the residence walk in and out all the time and are extremely loud. There has been physical altercations before in the floor hallways at night involving people who don’t even live here, BUT they will stop me and my friend for her ID when we’re just going to hang out and watch a movie. There has apparently been cockroach inspections, which I’m not surprised because especially on the first floor there are random bugs. The place has a dry negative vibe. Considering the cost to live at the residence, you would expect to have a good experience. The wifi is SO bad to the point where I would just be forced to use my data. The phone signal is awful your phone will cut off randomly and others have told me they have had the same issue. They charge a huge cancellation fee so good luck on trying to leave and find somewhere better. It does not feel like a college/Uni residence, it’s more of a retirement home/prison.

Do your research on DC! This school is awful! Read all of the bad reviews about DC on so many websites. Many students have left negative reviews about DC all over the web. DC tries to hide those reviews to only show you the few good reviews they have. You are basically paying to teach yourself things that you can learn online by yourself for free. This is why I left this school and I am so happy I did. Do not waste your time or your money at this school. Professors here teach you little to nothing and if you have questions about your work. They do respond to your emails for days. Do your research on this school please.

Okay WTH? This is a residence for the students who have paid for an at least β€œnot bad” service. My issue is the WiFi. The front desk and maintenance workers Iβ€˜ve met are nice. I am an international student, and my parents are living in another country far away. So WiFi really matters. I just want to have stable internet connection so I can FaceTime with them everyday with no lagging issues. But EVERY SINGLE TIME, it lags, because of the gosh darn weak, slow and unstable WiFi the residence provide. And I have to use my own cellular data for that. How can this even happen in a place that is supposed to give a great experience for the students living in it?

It was a surprise to me that the distance from Toronto to my destination (Durham college) was not as far as I thought it would be while going. Returning to Toronto was very frustrating because I waited to extended period of time waiting for a bus. Guess it was because that time was not a peak hour.
