The building has water leaks in the parking areas and inside building units with serious electric hazards to the tenants. The elevators are another major problem, with 24 floors and elevators failing every week with a new problem. They are scary to use, they make loud squeaky noises at times, get stuck on random floors, open and close the door while on the same floor, just to recall a few. They're planning to shut down one of the two elevators. The parking lot has many break inns and some vehicles had their windows shattered and belongings taken away so be careful when renting parking space. Poor management and inexperienced on site representatives are very indifferent to customer complaints. One of the representative told a tenant that they're just one out of a million for boardwalk, but they forget that in the process they too are one in a million options for the customers and people will eventually move on to better places for the same price. People realize quickly the mistake they made by moving to this building, in the last 6 months my floor alone has witnessed at least 5 apartments change tenants due to the poor service compared to the high rents paid. Boardwalk decided to renovate the building to fix the problem. Well, they only made the building look good externally to attract more tenants. It's the same old building, just with a lobby and corridors that look attractive. People don't live in lobbies, so don't let that fool you. They're renting the building to anyone that applies and you could see some sketchy people, rules being broken, tenants with large dogs which are officially not allowed, property damage by drunken and loud groups of people, broken gym equipment, swimming pool being damaged and shut down, etc. There are some plus points to this building: Close to downtown and whyte avenue, so if you work nearby then it's good for commuting. If you live facing the North side then the river valley view is gorgeous, in the summer months only.

I see many people review how great the building is. I totally agree. Besides the environment of this place, I really want to share my experience about staff too. Especially, Rosie...she is the best. She is nice, police, and kind. She helped us a lot since the beginning of viewing until the day we moved in. Even though, there was some personal issues happened to us, but she never hesitated to help and answered all the questions right away. She makes us feel we live in a 'Home' and safe to living here. I really want to say thank you a bunch to Rosie! Though, I told her personally, but still want to share how great she is again here ?

Park Place Tower is a great place to choose when looking for affordable, large rooms with an unbeatable view. Pritika has been the most kind & helpful during our entire stay. Our move in/move out process was very smooth and regular maintenance has always been available. Having a river facing suite is the best part about living here, you get the most beautiful view of the city. Rooms are very spacious and renovated suites are nicely done. Tenants are additionally very kind and welcoming and most have been here long term. I haven’t personally experienced any loud neighbours and would say the walls are relatively thick. There are clean and well functioning laundry suites & garbage shirts on each floor. Additionally, a brand new lobby, gym, common area, and community room! The access panel to the building is quite neat too and allows you to view who is trying to access the building through a phone app. Plus you’re a walking distance away from whyte avenue, a multitude of great bike lanes, and super close to the strathcona farmers market! Unfortunately, while living here we have experienced construction over the course of the year. This would be my top complaint due to inconveniences, however, as these have been fulfilled there should no longer be much trouble. Additionally, be wary of suites being renovated above/below or beside your suite. I wasn’t aware of renovations and have been disturbed within mornings and throughout the day due to suite renovations. Windy days will definitely hit the loud spots as well.

Although this building has been through a lot of hardships and construction, I absolutely love my building manager Pritika! She always listens to my concerns and helps me get what I need fixed. Yes, the building went through a lot of construction in the past year but now it looks great and we have new elevaor shafts that work, a new gym and a lobby that looks like it's out of a magazine. In my 2 years of living here, I've felt safe, seen, heard and cared for. (Oh, and I also absolutely love the view!!!)

Update: Rosie reached out to me about the heating in our apartment the same day I posted this review, and the issue was resolved within two days. Thank you so much for your attentiveness! I can’t say enough great things about this building and its staff. Original post: If you’re looking at several Boardwalk locations, I highly recommend Park Place Tower. My roommate and I transferred to PPT from a different Boardwalk location, and all I can say is wow. What a night and day difference. Rosie and Pritika go above and beyond to make residents feel welcome, seen, and heard. I feel like I’m actually part of a community here. I’d be remiss to leave out maintenance staff as well! The building is kept very clean and the renos from 2020/2021 are exceptional. Beautiful, modern looking building with extra security measures in place. My only complaint would be the temperature in our suite. For whatever reason, the baseboard heaters do a fantastic job of heating the place even when the thermostat is all the way down. I’m concerned for what this will look/feel like in the summer months. I’ve yet to address this with office staff as it’s been a small issue so far, and we recently received a notice of new smart home tech being installed within the coming weeks. Time will tell! All in all, Park Place Tower is a great place to call home.

When I came to Edmonton last year, I was lucky to find this building. The location and view are unbeatable and although the building is old, they renovated the unit and it was spacious and bright. From sunrise to sunset, the unit has natural light. Pritika helped me a lot to find the best unit and as soon as I needed a service, she managed everything perfectly. Other staffs were also very courteous and helpful as well. I recommend this building to everyone who is new in Edmonton.
