Dr. Al Sabbagh is very understanding, concerned about his patients and encourages follow up.

I visited Dr. Sabbagh yesterday, it took him less than five minutes to answer a question I've asked many doctors before with no answer. He also took an immediate action to help me with my sleeping issue. Thanks Dr. Sabbagh!

It's the end of 2018, and I am still missing the man who nailed down my sleep problems way back when I first met him in 2008. He was my "sleep doctor" until he moved a few years ago. He was the nicest guy and he was the man who spoke the truth in 2008 and convinced me to have a sleep study and, eventually, use a CPAP machine. I went from being so tired that I wanted to die to having a day every once in a while when I was a little tired. Now, in 2019, I'm due for my third CPAP machine... and I am not really looking forward to dealing with someone other than Dr. AAS.

Dr. Al Sabbagh is a very reluctant doctor to give or spend one extra minute with patients, and he will never allow patient to consult with him if he see's patient within 2 weeks, as OHIP does not pay full amount if you go back to your doctor within 2 weeks of the initial consultation, (OHIP only pays small fee ). So always 2 weeks between appointments. Any issues you may have can NOT be addressed for 2 weeks. Also do not expect Dr. Al Sabbagh to illuminate your sleep apnea cause, he will describe a CPAP machine for months and keeps you under his supervision for several months so he keeps charging . ( Sleep apnea has to be investigated as some symptoms are treatable)

I met him last year as i had to do a sleep test before my Gastric Bypass surgery. He insisted that I should sleep at his clinic as other places have long waiting list, which was not true. I went there and slept in an apartment with very poor air circulation. It was in the summer and there was no AC and it was so hot which I told the guy working there. He said that is ok and he can’t do anything about it. They connected me to the devices and the guy kept talking to me through microphone giving me instructions till 3am and didn’t let me sleep. Then he brought the sleeping machine, brought a fan and turned off the microphone and concluded that I have sleep apnea. I have done the test at hospital couple of years ago at standard condition without any interruption during my sleep time. So I knew the conditions were rigged and then i realized why Dr. Alsabbagh insisted that i must do the test at his clinic. Then when i met him couple of weeks later, he forced me to buy a machine from store downstairs, i told him that i must consult with my husband beforehand and he threatened that if I do not buy it then he will not give me permission for surgery! Honestly I don’t even know how he has license to practice. From his point of view insurance will pay for a device so why do you worry! I do not know anyone who visited his office and comes out without a machine. Regardless if you really have an sleep apnea or not he tells you that you have. Since i did not trust him, I got the test done at a hospital and the results came that I do not have an sleep apnea. I do not Trust him.

It was a very poor experience initially, as i was waiting for may phone appointment for i hr and 19 minutes before i could talk o Dr Ahmed. The phone call was very short and i could hardly understood my problem and Dr Ahmed diagnosis. I studied everything including my sleep study report and the options suggested by Dr Ahmed. I then requested a follow up appointment with Dr Ahmed and i was happy to have his full attention to my request and we had a detailed discussion in the follow up call and i was fully satisfied with his response. Thanks Dr Ahmed!

Though competent overall, very unwilling to help patient in my opinion. Not a patient friendly clinic. Unwilling to assist me in identifying ministry policies that served as a barrier to having another sleep apnea test following orthodontal work, and unwilling to complete a disability tax form on my behalf citing that I have been discharged as a patient. What will it cost you to fill out a legitimate form on behalf of a patient who was very recently in your care? I really don't understand the need for these senseless barriers. As a doctor are you not out to help people? Or are you simply chasing a large paycheck? Very disappointing.

This Dr. seems to have an authoritarian complex. When I sought clarification about the process regarding sleep studies he seemed to take it personally as if I was "challenging his authority" he and his clinic completely disengaged from providing me with any info and support following this. The result: I waited months for a CPAP machine after being dx with sleep apnea because he and his staff refused to provide me with any support around this. Once I was able to find a new family doctor, he used Dr. Al Sabbagh's report to fast track me for a CPAP consultation and I had my machine within weeks. When your ego puts the health and literal lives of patients at risk that's when you know you've chosen the wrong profession. I would give zero stars if I could.
