About Currents Veterinary Centre
Congratulations! You have just welcomed a new bundle of joy (and energy!) into your household.
Here are some things for you to consider:
At Currents, we like to work with families before they welcome a new pet into their home. We ask you to consider whether your family is prepared for the time commitment, change in lifestyle and budgetary considerations that a pet requires. We also help you consider the type of breed that best suits your lifestyle. There are also safety aspects to consider if you have children at home.
Things like chewing gum, cigarettes, cleaning supplies, certain foods and human medication all need to be put out of reach! Plus you need to think about how to keep your new pal away from your pool, plants, sharp objects, even your garbage!
Once you’ve chosen your new pet, you must now introduce him or her to the rest of the household, including children and/or existing pets you have at home. We offer advice to help facilitate the easiest, healthiest integration into his or her new home.
You can also come to us for tips on pet-proofing your house and how to deal with common emergencies.
Microchips
The most common way to find a lost or missing pet is by tracking them through microchips. At Currents, we can implant a new microchip in your animal, or update an existing one.

She went above and beyond to let me know I had made the right choice in my decisions and I really appreciate it. The rest of the staff were very empathetic and caring. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had adopted a guinea pig last week for our current guinea pig. When he was brought to us we could tell he wasn't well. His time with us was short and heartbreaking. He was a very sweet boy and had a lot of pain in his final days. Dr Chappell is an amazing vet, we chose this clinic based on the reviews she had and because of how close the clinic is to my home. We didn't want to put this guy through more pain and fear than he was already experiencing. I was absolutely devastated and knew when I brought him there he wouldn't be leaving, hearing her tell me he had to be euthanized didn't make it easier. We absolutely love animals and finding a vet that loves them just as much is of the utmost important to us. We found that with Dr Chappell and I was slightly comforted knowing she would be by his side as he went to sleep. I highly recommend this clinic and most of all Dr Chappell to anyone who wants nothing but the best for the animals under their care. I am grateful to have found her.
My heart is still heavy as this just happened yesterday. I am thankful for the short time I had with that beautiful guinea pig even if it was 4 days of sleepless nights and heartache. Thank you for taking such great care of my Garak.

Not here though! I love taking my little buns to the vet, I learn something new every time. I always leave feeling confident that my animals are in good health.. even after a surgery!
