S	Shinato on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have just bought a 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan and had it checked through by another garage for a decent amount of money and had repair quotes for just over 2000 dollar (engine leaking, transmission, ...). As we did not want to go with that we went with a recommendation of a good friend and made an appointment with Doug at Canadian Motor Company. As it turned out he is a very friendly and probably the most honest mechanic I have ever met. He checked the car thoroughly and told us that for our use (we need the car for a little over 6 month) there is no need to do any major repairs at all, except to top up some fluids which we gladly did. He explained everything the way we would understand and also gave us advice. In the end they charged us a minor sum for their excellent service. It would have been quite easy to convince us of repairs for several hundreds of dollars, which weren't neccessarily needed, but he was honest and told us that he would not do it if it were his car. If we ever have any problem with our car in the future, we will go and visit Doug at Canadian Motor Company.

I came in worried I'd have to replace my car because the mechanic near my house said so many things needed to be fixed (but they were too busy to fit me in that week for a follow-up to an engine shampoo). My dad recommended this place. Doug, the mechanic, not only told me there was very little wrong with my car, but offered to show each thing to me and explain how to do maintenance checks. The last shop said my brake pads needed replacement, he showed me they were only halfway through their life. I feel very grateful for the excellent service, which I was not even charged for. I will never use another mechanic, as long as Doug, and his lovely sister on reception, are still running this place! I wish I could give 10 stars.
O	Orein on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I enjoy coming here because Doug makes sure you understand what he is going to do and his reasoning. He doesn’t push you to buy things and do unnecessary work unless you give him the okay. He is always willing to show me things and is not rushing to get me out the door. He shows he cares about his customers. He’s always helping me with all my concerns/questions and goes above and beyond what I expected. Also, if you are poor like me and hardly have money to just throw away on your car, he always offers alternatives such as waiting if something is not severe, unlike other places that give you a sense of urgency so you spend money right away, or suggests a cheaper option if it’s available. I’ve personally learned so much about cars every time I come here and I always appreciate the knowledge.

He educates you about your vehicle and makes recommendations based on your driving habits. He just saved me $2200.00 of unnecessary work that a dealer recommended. Couldn't recommend any more.

He will take the time to thoroughly explain your vehicle's issues and won't push extra labour on you if it is an easy fix you can do yourself. He will also discuss labour and parts options and prices with you beforehand. We've always been able to have our car seen quickly. The secretary, Cathy, is also very friendly and helpful. So happy to have found this business!

You are in good hands with a guy who does excellent work, is honourable and will never try to sell you on service you don’t need, and will explain his work in a way that you understand. I’ve never felt dumb talking to Doug and he often takes us back into the shop to point things out and explain what we’re looking at. I’ve even had Doug tell me that a replacement indicator was something I could easily replace myself and after he explained what to do I did just that - saving me the hour of shop time. On top of all that, Doug’s a great guy and we always enjoy a chat when we drop a vehicle off.
