We arrived after our second day of 15 hours of driving and we just wanted to rest. The front desk lady was incredibly friendly and helpful. We have two large young dogs so we requested a room close to an exit door so it was easy to take them in and out while keeping them calm. The room was perfect! Incredibly Clean, comfortable and quiet!! The best part was there is a fully fenced in dog run steps from the door we were near. The dogs were so happy to be off leash and play! They came in so tired that the whole family got an incredible nights sleep! The front desk lady wanted to meet the dogs and was so great with them! (Rottweiller and Mastiff). We appreciated such a dog focused hotel. The hotel was easy to access and close to gas and Tim Hortons.

Upon our arrival there were 3 front end staff at the counter and none of them acknowledged my daughter or I. Once we checked in and went to our room we found hair in the bathtub, they moved us rooms. Once we got in the second room we found urine on the toilet seat. My daughter had college and I worked a full day then we drove over 2 hours to get to Lethbridge, all we wanted to do is eat and sleep. We decided to clean the bathroom ourselves, we then went to hang up our coats and found a beer box in the closet. The lady at breakfast was lovely though!

I delivered pizza here to the owner on a $200 order and after receiving the pizza, I was tipped $2, or 1%. The pizza shop I work at is on the other side of town, and I only make money on tips and delivery fee. As a student who struggles to scrape by, this felt extremely rude and unprofessional by the owner.

WARNING - DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL IF YOU ARE WITH A HOCKEY TEAM. IF I COULD GIVE A NEGATIVE NUMBER YOU WOULD GET ONE. TO THE HOTEL STAFF AND ESPECIALLY THE MANAGER: IF THE HOTEL IS NOT PREPARED TO DEAL WITH HOCKEY KIDS OR HOCKEY PARENTS THAN DO NOT TAKE THE BOOKING. BRUTAL Response to the owner's response: NICE RESPONSE - The best part of the your whole response is it just shows what kind of guy you are and how you treat your patrons. I was not at the hotel with the team you kicked out this past weekend at 11pm Saturday night, but I was staying at the hotel and I am a hockey parent. I witnessed everything. This message is now being sent to everything single Hockey association in Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, and British Columbia. You will lose a lot of revenue over it, but I am sure the Best Western Chain can afford it. It is also the last time I will ever stay at a Best Western. Hockey Parent

Cross Posted to other hockey parent groups: Heads up to teams: do not book at the Best Western Plus in Lethbridge (on 41st St). Our team was booked there this past weekend for hockey Provincials in Picture Butte and we had a terrible experience. We were harassed from the moment we checked in and were evicted at 11pm on Friday night, the second night of our 3-night stay. We were allowed to stay until the morning but then had to check out before our early game. I’ve been a part of many team hotel bookings and I know what kinds of behaviors are irritating to other guests and hotel management. We were a tame team of 12 year old girls. We had no late night parent gatherings, no mini sticks in hallways, our kids were well supervised. The hotel manager refused to provide any specifics (ie time of complaint, room number, specific problematic behavior). All we were told was that we had violated their code of conduct. The main issues seemed to be: we checked in between 10 and 10:30 on Thursday night (we called ahead and told them we would be checking in late due to our 2 games in PB); the next morning we lingered too long at breakfast having coffee while we made our plan for the day; part of our group moved to the couches in the lobby then moved into a meeting room and were finally kicked out of there (no alcohol involved in any of this). At this point the hotel was furious with us and were threatening eviction and fines. After the events of the morning, we decided to make ourselves scarce and vacated the hotel by noon, cancelled our planned pizza dinner in a meeting room for that evening and didn’t return to the hotel until 9:20pm for our girls to have a quick swim and then head to bed (big game early next day). They fabricated a story about having to close the pool because the team before us pooped in it. We were skeptical of this claim so we checked with the other team and they assured us that their 10 year boys were all potty trained and had of course not done that! So then we all made our way to our rooms. The hotel quiet hours start at 10pm and we really did try to respect that rule but were unaware that the manager’s definition of quiet is hard lockdown in your room. A couple of dads went to complain about how we were being treated (this is before 11 pm) and she told them the whole team was getting kicked out. At that point half the team packed up and moved across the parking lot to the Holiday Inn and half waited until the morning to move. Many other issues - this is already too long and I never bother to write hotel reviews but this was pretty extreme. Just don’t risk ruining your tournament weekends by booking at this hotel!

Absolutely top notch hotel with top notch staff. Jedidiah managed to stay extraordinarily helpful, friendly, professional, and efficient even with 6 different hockey teams staying at the hotel, as well as normal guests! Was able to lend a hand quickly and professionally no matter how small or large the issue. And kept a smile under the mask the whole time! One of the best-best westerns I’ve been to!! Thank you!!!!

Staff here are great! Location is awesome having the Coulee Brewery within 10 steps. Breakfast here is 8/10 if you eat at Best Westerns often and love when you can rely on them having cheese omelettes….

Spectacular customer service that goes far beyond most other hotels. Great location amongst many other hotels If you have group bookings, solid continental breakfast, pool, gym and clean spacious rooms. A brewery right behind it as well! One of my favorite best westerns in southern Alberta.
