I think BCAA has gotten too big for it’s britches with not enough competition. Insurance employees and front staff were rude and dismissive.

Julie at the Hillside branch was a delight and explained everything we needed to know in a very comprehensive manner. ICBC's rates are a little high, but I'm not going to change their position with a Google review. Overall, the in-house service was A+!

This is only towards the customer phone staff, not towards other services. I was in a rush when I was making my booking. I have never used BCAA before for insurance. I had selected the wrong appointment type online by mistake. The woman who called me, I apologized to for it and said not to worry, I'd just do the one I had selected and could do the second one another time. Her response "Well if you had bothered to select the right option in the first place, this wouldn't have been a problem." I was floored by how rude, not only by the statement but by the tone. I repeated again that it was fine and I'd forgo the other package I had wanted, as I was out and in the supermarket at that point. She then said "Well if you can be bothered to give me the time, I will fix your mistake." ... I was not prepared to be called by a company to just have someone be so rude. At the end of the call after she demanded all my info, no apology for the confusion, no thank you for my time, just "Glad I could have helped" and hung up before I could even say goodbye. I'm still so stunned I'm not sure if I can stomach calling up to cancel the appointment to go somewhere nicer incase she answers and decides to continue her lack of professionalism or basic courtesies expected when you call someone on the phone. (I work in client services and speak all day on the phone with clients and agencies, so do know that it's never ok to call a client up and speak to them like that)

I took my vehicle in due to an annoying squeak. The vehicle was diagnosed and fixed. After my vehicle was fixed the low brake fluid warning came on. I spoke with Mitch the service manager. He promptly had Steve the mechanic who did the work take a look. Steve was confused as to what was going on and after a thorough investigation discovered the problem and took ownership as to the problem .I was told it would take until after the weekend to get my vehicle fixed and back to me as it was a long job to complete and it would not cost me anything to fix. Mitch offered me a cab to get home and I asked about a rental vehicle .Due to my current situation I need a vehicle available 24/7. Mitch called a few places but given it is the BC Day long weekend everyone was closed or had nothing available. With that, Mitch and Steve suggested I take the company vehicle for the weekend. I carried on with my day and two hours later I received a call from Mitch stating my vehicle was fixed and ready for pick up.When I arrived, I Mitch was very apologetic and I had a discussion with Steve and was very impressed that Steve was happy that this had happened in the parking lot and not on the road as this could have been a very dangerous situation. I have come to discover that this issue was not an error created by Steve but rather a vehicle fault . I am quite impressed with the honesty and integrity of Mitch and Steve and the rest of the team who strove to get my vehicle fixed and make the situation right. I have been around a few years and have seen people get ripped off and how easily this could have happened to me today but didnt. Both of you Mitch and Steve, thank you. I will be back for future work when required.

Decent enough business. Still feel like being sold to by commissioned employees or they get bonuses for upselling you to higher coverages. No different then any other auto and home insurance broker though.

Small location inside Hillside Mall. Great communication and very professional towards customers, I got helped with taking specific photos which turned out great.

The BCAA Hillside Centre has great service. They are up front about how long they will need your vehicle and usually finished before the estimated time. The staff are cheerful and knowledgeable and the atmosphere here is great. Their tire tech (named) Mitchell is the best wheel/tire balancer I have ever seen. Visit them and you won't be disappointed!
