Jean Kaddoura - Founder & Stylist
Born and raised in Lebanon, Jean immigrated to Canada in 1976. A kind, charming man with a deep care for hospitality, integrity, and quality, as well as helping people look and feel their best, Jean then began what would be 9 years of extensive training in the hair industry. Jean holds a degree from Johnson’s Beauty College, and has also trained at Martin Parsons in Toronto. After completing his official training, Jean was driven to start a hair and aesthetics business that could provide for his family and their children. In addition, he determined that his business would have a legacy founded on top-quality service, an unrivalled reputation, and incredible hospitality. True to his dream, what would become Ablaze Hair Group opened in 1984. Since, he has been deeply grateful for every opportunity to service each client that sits in his chair. Jean is always advancing his craft, and now has been cutting hair for 38 years, giving him a breadth of knowledge and experience that makes him a true artisan in his field. Although he is a master of many style techniques, he still maintains his favourite services to perform are cuts, colours, and perms. When he’s not at the salon, delighting clients and passing his wisdom on to his team of stylists, he’s delighting in his family, most of all his 3 grandchildren.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the first time I went there and I’ve got one of the best haircut ever. Emma is an amazing hairdresser because she could instantly realize what I was looking for and she walked me through with what she has in mind and after she realized that I am also comfortable with it then she cut my hairs with extreme detail and care. After haircut, Emma showed me how to style them day to day. In general, amazing experience and Emma is an amazing person.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My experience at Ablaze Salon was one of the best experiences I have had in years. I had a wonderful Stylist downtown and then she moved her salon out of the downtown core. My hair was a mess to say the least. I had 3 bad haircuts and color experiences over the past few months.
Moe was my Hair Consultant... I am sure he was horrified when I walked. Moe assessed my hair, made recommendations and made a plan to enhance the recovery going forward. When I left the Salon I made my next appointment and left there one very very satisfied customer. The other customers that were there were all made very comfortable and walked out of the Salon all with SMILES and a step in there walk. All of the Stylist were very friendly. I highly recommend this Salon for male, female, young and old. I hope your experience with Ablaze is as wonderful as mine. Customer forever!! Sandra

First she talked with me at length about the look I was looking for, the length I was comfortable with, how I would style myself, what devices and products I used, made suggestions, discussed options re layers etc. Then she gave me the perfect haircut— exactly what I was looking for! And she showed me the different looks I could later create with my new cut, and how, and what products would help. In total she spent 1.5 hours with me. I love how concerned she was with getting the cut and style just right. She is not only very skilled, she is a lovely person to get to know. I have found my hair stylist at last :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I went to Ablaze to get my hair coloured using foils, and also needed a haircut. Diyana and Jean worked together to find the right colours for my hair and did an awesome job. It is usually stressful getting a new stylist to do my (long) hair and I have had to do this a few times. Everyone was very attentive and they worked hard to make sure I had a good experience. Lovely salon and very welcoming owners/staff. The results were very nice. Thank you. I highly recommend this salon especially because Jean - the owner - is very passionate to work closely with his team.

The staff are all helpful and there are no egos like I've seen at other salons I have been to in the past - Ablaze is an awesome group! Ferass consistently does a perfect job for me and I'm always happy with the outcome. Would 100% recommend this place to anyone considering getting their hair done here!
Jean knows exactly what you want without much explaining and has a talented eye for what suits the client

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is hit and miss. My first (and last) appointment was a disaster. I showed the stylist (who happened to be the owner) 3 photos of the same person and asked to have that same very hair color. After my appointment my hair was so much lighter than the photos I couldn’t believe he let me leave the salon. I expressed my displeasure but his comment was condescending. I contacted the salon after the weekend and he offered to fix my color at no charge but who wants to return to a salon that messed up so bad, especially on a brand new client. Additionally, when I found a different salon to fix my hair, they also had to fix my cut because the back of my hair was cut crooked by the stylist at Ablaze Hair group. Another reason to never return. So very disappointing after spending over $200.
