Sunshine Nails & Spa Ltd - Calgary

I've been to many different spas in Calgary, and none of them are as good as Sunshine. They always do a good job on my nails. I've also never had any waxing issues. Hannah and Sandy in particular are amazing! I think the staff here give the longest leg massages during a pedicure, in comparison to anywhere else I've been.

I used to love getting my nails done here but the prices have gone up and the quality down. I got a regular pedicure, shellac manicure and an eyebrow wax and the total with tip came to almost $100! On top of that the shellac polish is already cracking and peeling. I will not be returning here.

It was my first time going here and I thought the staff was great, however afterwards I noticed that the nail polish is not very good quality for the price they charge. It has been a little less than a week and I’ve never had my acrylic nails chip so much and placed so far from the cuticle. For 50 dollars they should definitely last longer!

Went today and got an acrylic set from Hana. She was so so sweet and gentle and always asked if I was happy with how my nails were looking. Overall I love my nails and it was quick without looking rushed! (: It smells so good in the salon, maybe a bit strong for other people but personally I liked it (: It was overall a very good experience & I'm definitely going to be coming back!

Came into this salon in a rush, as my regular salon was busy. They were very friendly, got me in very quick. Cen did my nails, and she did an amazing job! The job she did today was just as good, if not better than the salon I was going to. I used to pay 70$ for a fill at the old place I would go, came here and it was only 45$. Prices are reasonable, service is great, and I will be returning here from now on!

I always really liked sunshine nails because they were efficient, kind, and affordable. However, my most recent experiences I found them to be very rushed and not the great quality I previously enjoyed. My shellac (understanding the many factors that goes into the deterioration of the nails) chipped quickly after leaving. I can appreciate quick service but it was too quick and the poor quality showed. Their 10% discount is now 5% so this paired with the lack of quality and way too rushed service is why I will not go back for nails. They still do a great job at eyebrow waxing though!

I got a manicure with shellac done, pricing was very competitive, around 35 dollars. The lady named Lisa who did my nails did an amazing job and she was very thorough and listened to what I wanted. When she was trimming my cuticles it did hurt a bit but my nails look like they're brand new! She didn't give me a hard time because my nails are short, and she didn't make me feel bad about it. I will for sure be back, this is my new go to salon. Make sure you bring cash as they'll give you a discount!!!!

I have been to Sunshine a handful of times purely out of convenience (my bad, lesson learned) — Each time was mediocre at best. Four days ago I went in for a gel fill and it has got to be the most uncomfortable experience I’ve ever had in a nail salon. I can’t stop talking about it because that’s how blown away I was by the awful customer experience. The nail tech was rough and unfriendly, and finished the entire fill in under 25 minutes (not the good kind of speedy). I should have said something sooner but I’m usually a very polite person who always gives service providers benefit of the doubt. I’ve been getting my nails done for years and know what to look for in a high quality job, so I could tell that the tech cut many corners and didn’t allow enough dry time. The paint job was awful and at the end, I pointed out a couple of chips and lumps and bumps I know would have bothered me as soon as I left — totally reasonable when paying for a service. The paint was covering my cuticles and you could still see my previous shellac colour on some parts of my nail. The tech made me feel like I was a nuisance and did not hold back in letting me know she was annoyed, and told me that I should check that each coat is up to my standards. Personally, I don’t think it’s the customer’s job to do a thorough quality check between coats, provided that the tech knows what they are doing and actually cares about what they are doing. Anyway, long story short, I’ve never been so tense during a customer experience and the worst part is that I somehow still felt obligated to tip. Big regrets all around. To make matters worse, on the next day the entire paint peeled off the middle finger which exposed a very sticky consistency that just got stuck to everything. I’m assuming this was because the tech carelessly slathered my nails with globs of gel and didn’t allow enough dry time? I highly recommend customers looking for a comfortable experience and nice nails to skip this place.
