I have only had great experiences in my visits to Westside Medical Clinic. As it is a busy clinic with a lot of doctors I wasn't sure what to expect but they were so organized and I felt well taken care of.

I called in August 2021 to book an appointment with a new family doctor at the clinic, Dr. Kemp. I had to wait two weeks to just book the appointment, which then wasn't booked until the second week of November. I received a call today that they had "overbooked" the doctor, and they needed to reschedule my appointment to the middle of DECEMBER! 4 months to book in for an appointment seems absurd, let alone for those who have waited and informed that we had an appointment, to have that appointment now moved. I could have tried to find another family GP, while waiting the 2.5 months for my meet and greet. Furthermore to this comment, the owner of the clinic just called me, saying they'd no longer accept me as a patient following the review that I have left. I informed the owner that I did indeed, tell the administrative staff who called me that I did have a medical concern and did not want my appointment to be moved, however wasn't given an option to keep the appointment. The owner proceeded to argue with me, refuting my side of the story. I am glad to not be a patient of this clinic, as the owner clearly doesn't understand patient centred care and is more concerned with review of his clinic on google. I too, am a health care provider, and this is unfortunately the worst experience I have ever had with a medical clinic.

I had waited for 3 months for an appointment to see Dr. Kemp and the office called me 3 days before my appointment and cancelled. I rescheduled the appointment to December and ended up having an emergency where I had to go pick up my daughter from daycare before the appointment of which caused me to be 10 minutes late. I sat on hold for 25 minutes trying to get through to the office to let them know I was running behind due to the emergency but no one answered the call until I arrived at the office. When I arrived both girls at the front desk were sitting there chatting to each other! Told her I was there for my appointment and she said because I'm over 7 minutes late they would not see me!!! This is ridiculous, especially considering I was rescheduled from my original appointment due to their misbookings! Definitely a waste of time coming to this clinic! And I was referred to Dr. Kemp from my previous doctor whom was amazing...I wish she didn't leave the practice!

Waited 6 months to see Dr. Kemp. My appt was cancelled and rescheduled 3 separate times. My latest rescheduled appointment (as of last week when my appointment was cancelled days before my March 17 appointment…) was supposed to be in 2 weeks. Strung along for 6 months only to get a call today cancelling my appointment yet again and informing me that she is no longer accepting patients. Horrible. Wasted 6 months and still don’t have a family doctor. Would not recommend this clinic.

Front desk is usually as cold as a Calgary winter. They probably used up all the quotas for smiling or they may have bad teeth, thus the lack of smiles when they (do not warmly) welcome you in this clinic...whatever the reason is, a smile is a rare occurrence in this clinic. Not to mention, you will have even less reason to smile about when you leave the clinic or when you've experienced their awful customer service! I have put up with this clinic because my family doctor is very good. However, the past few weeks have even more unbearable as I am unable to reach their clinic manager. I wanted to relay a complaint, and reception just tells you that they are unable to give you the contact number of their clinic manager nor can they connect you to him. They tell you that they will relay the message to the said manager and to your doctor. I initially received a call from the said clinic manager, but I lost the voicemail containing his contact details and thus needed to acquire his contact information again, and I have not heard back from him since. I was again back to the same loop of being told my message will be relayed and that they are unable to give out the clinic manager's contact details. This is actually a VERY BIG RED FLAG. You have better luck reaching the customer service managers of multi-national companies, and this is actually another indicator of how this clinic puts very little value on their patients / clients and on their feedback. I will give this clinic negative stars if I could. This clinic risks their reputation by not giving a damn about the lack of customer service, neglect, or even abuse done by their staff. There should be ZERO TOLERANCE for abuse of health care professionals on clients. UPDATE: As of date, this clinic has informed clients of increased instances of clients lashing out on staff. Again, this clinic has yet to put in the effort to investigate how their staff are triggering clients with awful customer service. To this day, I have not received any apology regarding their staff’s actions. Yet, they arrogantly send mass email to their clients but they adequately lack follow-up in customer complaints. If you have similar experiences, speak up (maybe when they can no longer ignore the multitude of complaints then they will take their duty of care seriously) or stay away from this clinic because this says a lot of you will be valued and treated as a client seeking medical care.

These people are awesome. I am always treated well and the new location, although a wee bit farther away from Heritage, is easily accessible. The staff are professional, make me giggle and do a great job. Dr. Kunneman is fantastic and gets things done. If she is away the people she hires are, simply said, amazing. I am so glad I can depend on Dr. Kunneman and the office staff. Thanks all! aka "Andrew"

Reception staff are always professional and courteous. Entire clinic is very clean. Nurses are prompt and efficient and friendly. Dr. Nguyen is very thorough and caring, and will NOT just dispense medications for long periods of time without follow up, which is comforting. She's professional and thorough and willing to advocate for her patients and send referrals when needed. No complaints from me.

I have nothing but good things to say about this clinic. Dr. Kemp recently accepted me as a new patient and has been very helpful with my ongoing issues. I have been in the clinic a few times since and have always been treated with kindness and respect by everyone. In addition, this is probably the cleanest clinic that I have ever seen. Well done Westside Medical!
