I got my gel nails done by Ann today for the first time. I really love how Ann was able to do the fall styles I wanted. She was so gentle with cleaning my nails and did such a phenomenal job in overall. As mentioned by people on the Google reviews, everyone was really friendly and the place was super clean. I am really glad that I found this shop because I will be coming back to get my nails done regularly. :)

This is a perfect example of a place that used to have great quality efficient service, and fantastic customer care when they first opened and were newer to the area, but have now become lax after becoming more successful. In fact, I would tell everyone I knew to visit this place a few years ago. I live close by so this place is incredibly convenient for me. However, despite the many chances I’ve given them over the past 2 years, the quality of their services have deteriorated drastically. I frequently end up with chipped nail polish, bleeding skin or torn nail beds, and their services are nowhere as time efficient as they used to be. They took 1.5 hours to give me a shoddy shellac pedicure - I could have gotten a manicure AND pedicure for the same time at a different establishment. What’s worse is that their customer service has become increasingly unwelcoming and unfriendly. I fully support people speaking in their native tongue, but at Vivid Nails, they make it a point to constantly speak in Korean and mutter amongst themselves in front of customers. It’s impossible to not feel like they’re talking about you when they begin whispering in Korean right after you point out that you’d like something fixed or improved during your service. And more than anything, them constantly whispering in Korean doesn’t do much to make you feel like a welcomed or valued customer. Being located in Kitsilano, I think they ought to make more of an effort to make clients feel welcome since a diverse range of folk visit the salon, not just Koreans. Or maybe I should start learning Korean so I can join in and mutter along with them. Either way, I’d give this place 0 stars. Visit at your own risk. Or learn Korean.

My shellac manicure was great, but my shellac pedicure is kind of a disaster. I originally had them painted a lovely red colour and within a few days the top coat started turning a nasty shade of yellow. Really disappointing, as I got my nails specially done before a 2.5 week trip, and now my toes look discoloured and unsightly. Really too bad as I have generally had good experiences here in the past.

I love this salon! All the ladies are so warm and friendly and they do an amazing job with my nails. They are open to customizations and requests and often can see me last minute. But they are always so busy/full so I am very grateful.

When you get gel nails or nail services at Vivid you can tell the quality and difference because of the longevity you get in your nail service. Every time I get a shellac manicure I always notice it lasts a long time without cracks and peels. My nails stay clean and fresh and the gel colour stays vibrant. I usually get solid gel colours but the last visit I got a French gel manicure and it’s lasted so long. Thank you to the ladies at vivid you guys are amazing!!

Had a walk in pedicure at Vivid Nails and was one of the best pedicures I have had for a great price! $34 before tax for the standard pedicure and I paid an extra $5 for vegan nail polish - amazing mint color! Pedicure was thorough and the mini massage was really relaxing. You can tell they take pride in their work. Definitely will be returning for another pedicure in the future!
