Why Vesia

Several important observations drove us to establish Vesia:

  1. A common health concern in our population

    Bladder, prostate, and pelvic floor problems are some of the most common health concerns in our population, and many of these become more common as we grow older. With the population aging, it is clear that we are really just at the “tip of the iceberg” in terms of how important these problems are to our society and our health care system.

  2. Conditions have a great impact on quality of life.

    These conditions impact patients’ quality of life. While these health conditions are not “life-threatening”, they are “quality of life-threatening”: Many patients with significant urinary and pelvic floor problems are not able to lead full and productive lives.

  3. Patients are not seeking help for their condition.

    Many patients will unfortunately not seek help for their condition, often out of embarrassment, fear, or incorrectly assuming that it is a normal part of aging. Some people have also heard about negative experiences of friends or family that dissuade them from getting help.

With all of this in mind, the team at Vesia set out to establish a multi-disciplinary clinic staffed by passionate like-minded individuals dedicated to improving care in these areas. It was clear that in doing this, we would require to not only serve our individual patients better, but to support the general population and the broader medical community and system at the same time. Our goal of improving the lives of patients living with lower urinary tract and pelvic floor dysfunction could only be realised if we could achieve success in each of the following areas:

  1. Awareness and education

    Efforts will be made to improve awareness and education of lower urinary tract and pelvic floor conditions in the general population and the general medical community. We will strive to provide an inviting and comfortable atmosphere where patients can seek help. We will support the medical community at all levels to provide effective care for these patients at home and in health care facilities and offices.

  2. Enhanced health care delivery

    We will employ innovative models of multidisciplinary and collaborative care to better serve our patients. These will enhance access to and timeliness of care, and hopefully reduce morbidity between visits and dependency on other acute care facilities like emergency rooms. We will adhere strictly to the principles of patient-centered care and shared decision-making. We will strive to develop and integrate information technology in a meaningful and effective manner to assist our efforts.

  3. Improved patient care

    Success in the above areas will inherently improve patient care. Further improvement will come from continuous education and collaboration within the clinic and operating room, the development and refinement of multidisciplinary care pathways, clinical research, and sustainable growth to meet demand.

I have seen a few doctors and none could help me until I came here. The doctor took the time to talk with me and address all my concerns.

The office is always closed!!! The phone number is just a recorded voice and doesn't even take voice messages at most of times. They cancel your appointment that you have waited for a long time for that and it's impossible to rearrange the appointment. If you want to see an specialist to treat your urine system, don't bother to go to Vesia or make an appointment with a psychiatrist after that.

Disorganized. These people really have no idea what their doing, or even what's going on. Had appointment early 2016 for severe pain. Couldn't diagnose problem... Told me I needed a follow up appointment with them, and that they would call me. No call EVER made... I called back because of severe pain. Was told a letter was already mailed out to me with new appointment details. No mail ever received! Called backed again. No answer. Unreliable, unbelievable...

This is the best place ever. All of my concerns were addressed, and the procedure provided absolutely life changing results. I personally don't understand the negative reviews. Everyone was great.

Had an unpleasant procedure performed. Dr. Baverstock was TOP SHELF - talked to me the whole time with a fishing story to distract me. His prep nurse was equally TOP SHELF as she was very kind and helpful. It's sad to see poor reviews, and I can only speak to myself. I thought everyone I dealt was was EXCELLENT!

I typically shy away from public reviews, but I would have to say unfortunately in this case, 'uncaring' is the only word that I can use to describe my experience. I felt quickly dismissed. Please show compassion to people when they call your clinic and provide them with assistance.

I’m in the process of trying to donate a kidney to a friend and sent here. The document says show up 15-20 minutes early for Covid 19 screening. I knock a few times and finally a girl comes to the door super irritated and I said I have an appointment and wanted to confirm I am at the right place....she says yes maybe but we don’t open till 8am so wait until we are open. If I wasn’t trying to help out a friend I would have walked out right away because of her attitude. She didn’t even ask my name to see if it was here I have an appointment. Absolutely unacceptable customer/patient service from the receptionist. The nurse (Kara) there was incredible though. Once I got in she was so nice and extremely knowledgeable. She is the reason they are getting a 3 star. She would get 5 stars but the receptionist would get a 1 star! Thank you Kara!
